I already have a degree that has nothing to do with the healt field. I wonder how long it would take me to get phlebotomy training?

Pick up the phone and drop a dime. Look up the number from the web page or email them, I am sure none of us on topix know the answer.

Most phlebotomy schools take 3-4 months.......most hospitals will hire you right out of school. Hospitals pay more than private labs. If you can get on a hospital that offers out reach programs where they lease space at physicians office.........the hours are much better, usually no weekends or holidays........Getting your foot in the door is the main thing......Once you get your foot in the door.........you have an opportunity to transfer..........when jobs become available and you can further your education along with being trained in other fields within the lab, such as microbiology etc..........

working in a hospital has its down falls, such as weekends..........morning rounds, working a summer and winter holiday.........but you can't beat the experience..........

Good luck to you
