Fast food doesn't count. Most of it makes you go to the bathroom in about 10 minutes, full of fat, grease, salt. Not fit to eat. Don't eat out much, but if I do I want a sit down restaurant not fast food crap.

Being new to Manchester and coming from the "Big City" there really isn't a good restaurant in Manchester.
Most places have a very limited menu and only serve hamburgs, hotdogs, grilled cheese & fries. The few that have "specials" on there "wall menu" really don't have a clue on how to cook. Knowing how to flip a burger does not make you a chef. Pats cafe has good burgers and fries, but watching the waitress handle money then your food without washing her hands is kinda disgusting. Hero's has a good menu but very bad service and it takes forever to receive your food. The place on the hill by the courthouse is a joke with a limited menu, the game room/restuarant again has a very limited menu, the mexican place is dirty and has rude waitress's. The chinise place has food sitting for hours on the buffet, and last but not least, all fast food should be banned from the whole country. I guess that leaves the pizza places which so far, I have tried Pizza Pro and it wasn't to bad. I wish the people who decide to open a restuarant would at the very least be a real chef, and have taken a college course in business. A real restaurant with a good menu, good food and excellant service would do very well in Manchester. Lets all pray that someday that will happen. In the meantime, prepare your own meals at home, you will be better off.

The best kept secret in Manchester is 4F Catering. Good home cooking and faster than the fast food places...and less expensive. Across from Liquor World in the blue building.

I have lived in manchester all my life, and have ate at every place in town. In my opinion, fast food does not count. Lots of fat and grease. Probably the best overall is the Heroes place. They really do have a good lot of food, steaks are great and priced about like any place else. The hamburgers are good too. Maybe the service is a little slow but it is cooked to order I guess. Pats place is pretty good, but has a lot of people just hanging around. The mexican is mexican, pretty much all you can say. Chinese has some little weird lady trying to give you take out. I like breakfast so I like Huddle house too. For a little hole in the wall like Manchester, we do have quite a few places to eat.

Subway is awful, the bread is so hard it could break a tooth. I don't know why people eat there. Must have been raised on an old bologna sandwich, and don't know any better.

Sounds like you haven't tried the sandwiches and subs at Good Harvest Country Market in Garrard. They are very good and they have fresh meat and cheese that they slice fresh every day. Give it a try.

I've been in there a couple of times, they might have fresh sandwich stuff, but it seems like the rest of the store is damaged out of date crap. Won't go back.
