CCHS Cheerleaders suing Board of Education?

I hear the parents are pissed off that they make their kids practice in a gym that is anywhere from 100-105 degrees sometimes but it is against the law for football players to practice when it is 90 something degrees out. That's a law suit waiting to happen if something happens to one of those girls.

Call Reecia and complain! This is bullchit. She is gonna kill one of them children trying to get a damn trophy in Florida! Stupid if you ask me! Why in the hell do these parents let their kids go down there? They have had I don't know how many broke arms, legs and surgeries especially on knees and shoulders. I know of two cheerleaders that had to have surgeries in the last few months!! This needs to stop!! Ain't no trophy worth hurting them girls like that!

The school better get rid of these coaches that aren't certified by FRANKFORT and let the staff of the county coach the kids.That's what is destroying our kids in this county.

If the girls don't want to do it, why are they out there? She can't make anyone do anything they don't want to do, so if the parents don't like it and the girls don't want to do it, then they need to stay home. Cheerleading is most definitely a sport, cheerleaders get schlorships just like athletics do, they practice to get better and win competitions. Why do anything if you don't want to do your best? Make every effort to be the best and if you don't win at least you can't say we never practice to get better. She does exactly what she should do to win! No, I don't have a daughter who cheers, I don't even have a daughter, but I do know Steph, and she wants to win, that is why they win, because they have a coach who cares and works her heart out for those girls to accomplish what they have, no one else would put all those hours of their time helping someone elses kids.. She does because she loves winning and putting CC on the map for accomplishing something! It sure isn't the paycheck!

i know steph and i know how she was in school, i just dont see her putting in all those hours just to help some girls cheer. stephanie likes for everyone to see her she likes the attention. and she has always been like that. and yes i think the coaches should be very qualified for helping those girls do cheerleading. i see my grandchild practicing every year at manchester and it scaares me for her and her just a little girl. she loves it but the coaches do need to be qualified. i think the coaches should be certified.

Haha you know her well. In my opinion it has nothing to do with the kids, it's all about Steph and making a name for herself in the cheer world and as you mentioned, the attention!

There is alot worse things than that which go on with the cheerleading program at CCHS. If you only knew it would blow your mind.A hot gym is the least of those worries.

Take all the extras Step has had the opportunity to have away and see what she can do! A place to practice anytime,Tumbling coaches,choregrapher,stunt coaches, uniforms bought by the board, essentials paid by cheerleaders and fundraising for trips to nationals. She won 2nd,but only to the squads that had enough money to also attend nationals. She still isn't 1st in KAPOS.
What about all those other awesome squads that don't have the funds to enter national competition? The girls work hard,but they may as well be an all star team. They cheer for a trophy not a team.

They never go anywhere....like 2nd in Nation for 3 straight years, won more in-game than anyone in the state, and that is just for starters. Many girls have been offered scholarships to schools and just this year one is going to Morehead and one at EKU with cheerleading scholarships....hmmm sounds me you need to get your facts straight. As far as the coaches go, they are very dedicated to those children. They go far beyond what is expected and actually care about those girls. If you have never been part of that team then you would not know what they do.

How do u think the cheerleaders got these things???? The parents and coaches work their butts off so the girls can have these things. You can tell by how you are talking that you do not know about cheerleading. You have to have a qualified person to teach tumbling, you have to have a routine, and the only way the cheerleaders have enough money to go to nationals is because they earn it. The girls cheer football, girls and boys basketball games, and they miss very few games. It is a shame that the girls and coaches are having to go through this. Our cheerleaders are nationally recognized and is well respected throughout the nation. These girls work hard and have earned everything they have accomplished. And the board has only bought the girls 1 uniform and Steph had to fight for that. Don't hate these girls, support them. They are very proud of where they are from and the represent our town well. Why don't you show as much respect for them as they do for you.

No they don't care about those girls! They care about what they get out of it. I know for a fact that one girl decided not to cheer this year because she started going to church and now they are trying to get her to quit church and come back to cheerleading. If they cared about her, they would be happy in her decision to serve the Lord.

I am sure they are encouraging her to cheer and go to church.....why can't she do both? I don't get why some people think when they join church they have to give up all their hobbies. I know most of the cheerleaders also go to church!

You are misinformed. They have talked to that child many times and told her they love her and back her in whatever decision she makes. They want that child to be happy. However, me personally, I believe you can cheer and serve Christ. I believe that the Bible teaches us to go out among people to tell them about Jesus and His love for us. I also know that many of the cheerleaders are Christians and prayer is a very important part of their life and they have prayer many times during practice. Cheering has nothing to do with living for Christ. It is how you live day to day, not whether you participate in a sport or not.

Everyone has their right to worship their own way but showing your butt off to everyone is very unchristian like.
