Certainly no flunky here, it was an attempt to point out some positive aspects to think about since many other posters seem to have a negative on anything that might help the community grow and develop.

How can they increase a response time for a fire. Do they respond slower now even though people pay a fee. As far as police protection wouldnt it slow their response time since some of the areas are 5 to 6 miles away. I have protected my family and property all my life and when someone comes in on us I will call the coroner. I may be different but I give less that a crap about development where I live. If I want to live in a big city there are plenty in this country to choose from. I want to live in the country and I dont want anymore politics involved. I pay for water and garbage and spent a lot on an approves septic system. It would also cost them millions of dollars to run sewer where they are wanting to annex. Believe it or not any money the city gets in grants to do any projects in the city comes from the state or federal level and I pay those so I have invested in the city.

No additional posts will be made on this subject since it appears many posters can't think beyond negative as I refuse to crawl into the gutter with slander and inuendo.

When they evaluated my place for tax purpose it was not at any certain rate. i know they do base how much your place is worth on were it is located, if its in area with high fire lost. They certain areas in this county they devalue your place by were its located, so this stan needs to get educated and stop talking like a politican.

Yes Stan, but in this town that just doesn't happen. And our insurance rates will go up. 4.6% increase in the rate on all your cars, houses, boats, etc. This is from the city info and from insurance companies. You keep saying insurance will go down but that is not true! What makes you think there will be increased response time. We're not moving LOL! They can't get here any faster than they already do, unless they hold back now on purpose.
Police protection and services would be one example. The sheriff's office has a much more limited presence due to staffing constraints, extended duties and their larger service area. So, naturally there will be an increase in police response time due to the availability of this additional agency.

The point should be economic development and increased business opportunties that demontrate that we "Manchester" are open for business, tourism, and a new era of change.
That is reaching real deep. I seriously don't see businesses coming to Manchester just because they have a little more land. Manchester can't round up more than four or five sober people to work. The only thing this annex move will do is make a lot of hard working people pay a lot of money to the city so some thugs can fill their pockets until honest working people get tired of it and vote thm out and the FBI picks them up.

If you add all these extra people to the city limits, then there will be a LOT more people eligible to VOTE and RUN for the offices of Mayor and City Council. Maybe Manchester needs rid of some of those council members that have been there for years and years, and put a few of these "country" folks who would then be "city" folks on the council. If the annexation didn't work, you'd have the opportunity to change it back. Just a thought!

No one ever gets un-annexed is the problem there. Other cities have tried but been unsuccessful. But it's a great idea though!

Increased police response time doesn't change insurance rates though. However that would be "one" good thing. And about the only one. But around here people use other ways to protect themselves anyway. They have to!

You all have a voice in the decisions in this county. It is called voting. If you do not like how it is run in either the city or county vote them out.

Or just continue to complain and do nothing about your situation

Just asking have any of you ever read the city charter. a city can inact at its on disgression ordances such as limiting building size, types of buildings, types of lighting an even if you can have outside fixtures such as flag poles, dog houses and such. You people thats so hot for expanison better take note of what you wishing for, might be you get more then you bargain for. Oh by way just to expand to add more liquor stores or beer joints seems wasteful since its apparent the ones we got has not brought in all the things we heared so many of you say would come.

The Mayor is out of control! There is no way to justify this. I have not read the thread and I am sorry if I stepped on anybody who wrote the same thing I am about to write but why in the world would any of the people living outside the city limits want to join a corrupt city like Manchester? Look around you, it's all full of cronyism, nepotism. The city is dysfunctional. Who in their right mind would want to join? Not even the employees that the Mayor has in his office live in city limits. Why would you need a police force when most have a gun in their possession? What does the city offer? Here's the good news because I know it's going to pass, I know King George will have his way because he rules with those that vote with him and not serve. The good news is now is your chance to change the whole city around and vote every one out, just don't ever forget and find good people who believe in freedom and liberty and get those people out of office. Taxes is a form of slavery, they have you working for them, they no longer work for you. I tried to get people to understand but as I can see it's too late. You had to object long before this, you had to let them know you were always watching. Sorry, I can't join to help, I got busy with my own fight and loving every minute of it. I hate to say it, and I don't like doing this but I told you so, how many times did I find myself alone with just a few police in the city council meetings? Don't ask, good luck! You can find me on facebook, look for "Stand with the Sheriff" By the way if you don't believe me when I said to join me look at my past post. I tried, God knows I tried to warn you. I know where they got this idea and it's all part of a bigger plan to have more control of every aspect of your life. I am warning you now, I know what's coming and you are not going to like it. Psst... They don't even care if you move out, there are people in this country and you should know this by now that should be alien to you and me, it's not what our founders wanted. It's not American. Some of you were focused on the wrong things that you thought were so important, that was just a smoke screen.
