Stan you should quit posting. Everytime you post you just show how stupid you really are. The people being annexed get absolutely nothing from the city and would get the same if they are annexed but will pay thousands of dollars in fees and taxes. You can't name one thing the county gets from the city. We pay taxes to the city every time we buy something in a store. That's plenty.

Those in the proposed annex areas would benefit in several ways. For one they would receive expanded police protection. Also, the now larger city would then have the potential to attract business and development interests which would have otherwise passed on Manchester as seemingly being too small. This plan for growth brings with it the potential for more and better paying jobs and along with that an influx of new dollars into the local economy.

Cities in Kentucky are prohibited by law from levying a local sales tax. So you are mistaken in your belief we pay such a tax when purchases are made in local stores.

No, the alcohol tax is levied as a limited use administrative tax and not a general sales tax.

Of course being from London you wouldn't know that.

What stan do start using name well.Look when you cats were pushing the wet vote all we heared was all the new business that would come,i am still waiting for the red lobster and hoilday inn, maybe like in those commerical some of you cats can sleep at a holiday inn and get smarter. You could annex all of clay county and call it manchester would not bring one business in here. Business look for accessability, work environment, good leadership and growth potentical. Stan or well which ever name they use is a typical politican, full of hot air(windbag) that talks big but has little common sense. Its simple manchester or clay county will not get any major business untill we get a larger higway system, airport or a expanded railway system. Access is what we need for any chance to see any business other then a small maybe local start up like philips diversity. If that makes you upset stan or well then so be it but good old common sense tells you look at the places close around here that have grown and see what they got to offer, its accesss and good leadership.

I would like to see it because it will help the water & sewer co but your property taxes will go up that is the only reason that most of you'll don't welcome it its going to make you pay some extra money you can't take the money or land with you all you need is 2 feet by 7 feet as for myself I might open up a strip joint one for you women & surely one for the men this will bring jobs for sexy women & men and beer sales waitress jobs I think the city needs to expand 100 years from now we won't care it might be as big as lexington ky now its good to have fun but don't go to sleep each day without making it right with god asking him to forgive my & your sins amen.

I hate to bring this topic up as it is somewhat of a side issue but since this is a hot post maybee its a good place. Someone told me that many of Manchester's wealthiest people, oldest families etc. refuse to pay their property tax and nothing's ever said about it. Many of these people have never paid. I could not beleive the names and will not post them here but some even refuse to pay water bills. I got to thinking about it and I've never really seen delinquent City taxes in the paper. This person who told me has a close relative on the Counsel. It was also stated that only about 25% paid. I know that if my water bill was late my water would be cut off and has before. So before getting others who don't know this and would all probably pay how about answering this question. Better yet how about a delinquent list.

most of the rich family's say they own 210 arces, lie to the tax people and sad to say tell them its smaller the ones that have done this say tell them its 100 arces should lose their 110 arces for lying to the law because of the money I have met many people that have been left hugh farms who lie to pay less taxes and the land was handed down from the grandpa , back in the old days people brought land to live on from and worked their ass off to survive thy buy say 400 arces more or less which to this day still has not been surveyed and it was handed down from father to son and the son would figure out a way to steal it from his other brother and sister after that happen of course the theif is going to say less land to pay less taxes does this sound like your family. but again ask for or hevenly father to forgive us of our sins we need forgiveness everday I do you do god help and for give us all amen. & praise the lord our god amen & amen praise you lord praise you lord amen.

Well,
I don't need expanded police protection. I'm protected by GLOCK.
And besides you don't need the fox guarding the hen house.
