Hoolio, you have no idea what you are talking about. Yes I will agree that it is much less political than it was under Doug Adams but it still is political. I do not know all 4 people who are losing their jobs but I know 1. The one I know cares about her kids. Uses her own money in her classroom and spends countless of extra hours in her classroom. I pray that the board realizes that they are doing this teacher wrong.
I do agree with you that many teachers need put out that dont do their job. The problem is most of those teachers that dont do their job now have tenure.
Also I guarantee that a certain "big wig" at the boards daughter receives one of these job openings
You must be talking about Mrs. Judyyyyy! She thinks she knows it all. Wonder how she got her job title?

Maybe Mr. Couch is opening up more positions for his Corbin's friends. The one at Paces Creek got rehired. Everything is still political in this county!!

Why should folks who work at the board's children be exempt from a Job, thats ridiculous these kids have grown up with parents involved in the education system and they should be considered for every job they apply as if they have no board connections. They should not be punished.

I hope she is considered for a job. If she has half the work ethic that her mother does, she will make a great educator.

I agree everyone should be considered, but no one would should be just handed a job. If someone gets a job fairly then I am all for them but sadly that is usually not how it works in this county.

Work ethic doesn't have anything to do with getting a job at the board of education. I have a very strong work ethic and can't even get an interview. You get hired because who you are nothing else.

I just really hope that they are honest about these jobs, and the ones that deserve their jobs back they should go ahead and give them back to them.

The principals are completely responsible for a person who is not tenured either getting there job back or not. If a teacher didn't do a good job a principal may ask that they not be rehired. It all begins and ends at that level if things are being done correctly. Maybe the new teacher was a great with the kids but didn't teach the kids anything or maybe they missed to much work or maybe they caused trouble around a school. There are a number of reasons a principal may not want to rehire a young teacher.

The teacher I know that wasn't rehired was recommended by the principal to be rehired, according to other teachers hers had great results on their test and she was no trouble maker by any jeans. Very like able person and a hardworking teacher

i don't care what you think you know a person can not be released without the principal supporting such an action the principals and site based council do the hiring and they do the firing. Somebody has greatly misinformed you.

However if a schools attendance drops that school may not be able to rehire a teacher the board doesn't necessarily have to relocate them to another school.

The Superintendent does the firing, no one else. The Superintendent is solely responsible for all hiring, but the Board may overrule a hiring decision.

Two of these teachers still haven't been rehired. They both were told they did an excellent job. One of the principles begged for his teacher to be rehired. Yet, instead if giving them a job they hire people with no experience because they have political connections. The board of Ed is a joke.

One was from Manchester and there is a job opening there now because one of their teachers went to Oneida. I haven't heard of them getting their jobs back. Who got the two jobs down Oneida?

Didn't Jenny Farmer come from Oneida? Why would they move her up to Manchester and then have to replace her down there? Makes no sense.
