Atheism is so senseless & odious to mankind that it never had many professors. Can it be by accident that all birds beasts & men have their right side & left side alike shaped (except in their bowells) & just two eyes & no more on either side the face & just two ears on either side the head & a nose with two holes & no more between the eyes & one mouth under the nose & either two fore leggs or two wings or two arms on the sholders & two leggs on the hipps one on either side & no more? Whence arises this uniformity in all their outward shapes but from the counsel & contrivance of an Author? Whence is it that the eyes of all sorts of living creatures are transparent to the very bottom & the only transparent members in the body, having on the outside an hard transparent skin, & within transparent juyces with a crystalline Lens in the middle & a pupil before the Lens all of them so truly shaped & fitted for vision, that no Artist can mend them? Did blind chance know that there was light & what was its refraction & fit the eys of all creatures after the most curious manner to make use of it? These & such like considerations always have & ever will prevail with man kind to believe that there is a being who made all things & has all things in his power & who is therfore to be feared.
Newton thought funny water and words could make lead into gold.

You are confusing the *idea* of a god with the *reality* of a god. The reason there is even a word like "atheism" is because a lot of people believe in god, not because god is real.

Do you see what I mean?

A common quip you hear is that not believing in god is like not collecting stamps. Yet there is no special word for a "non-stamp collector". This is because belief in magic runs deep in humans. Once we evolved the ability to think about other minds besides our own we have had this need for explanations. In the absence of the ability to answer questions, such as why the sun rises, we fill that void of knowledge with the idea of some "other mind" that is beyond humans.

God.

And the idea has been so central to our lives that we have forums like this to argue over it.

Then speak more clearly. Several posts suggested something different than what you claim you said.
If you could show that post, you might just have a point, but as usual, you have accusations with zero evidence.

Or you just think we say what your propaganda tells you we think. At least this is what so many of your answers look like.

This question is answered differently than you desire. The answer is: there is no purpose for God to create a rock to simply pick it up. He only creates things that have a purpose that fits in with His will. It is not His will to test Himself, or have you attempt to test Him.
Then the answer is no, god cannot do anything. He does what he wants to do.
But you guys were not willing to admit the god could not do something.
Just try answering the darned questions and quit dancing around and maybe you will get a bit more respect.

BTW, how can you know what size rocks god needs to create? How can you know what size rocks god can lift?
How can you know god does not test himself?
Point is, you guys seem to just invent what god does, and this is a great example of this. This is why I think the entire idea of god is simply of mans imagination.

I think they need to do something more worthwhile and enact a Federal law protecting male and female minors 18 and under, from the varying realms of corruptness (including sexual predators and perversion pushers) to anything over 18.

Kids might actually learn something worth learning about again then!

IS that like the idiots that try and speak for what they *only* pressume to know what others think, but really have no clue, due to existing in cosmical states of abject ignorance themselves?

Cause yeah, that kind of stuff is really pretty pathetic.

What is this magic that you are referring to?

Is that like believing that nothing created something from nothing and thus the creation of the Universe and everything therein?

Guess old Issac never visited the freak show at the carnival.... And never when in much for anatomy since is a rare thing indeed that a person on the planet has two ears the same size, two boob the same size, both eyes the same, or the left side and right side of any part of the human body identical.... It was and is an Idiotic statement on it's face... Issac should stick to apples....
Shallow thinkers should not attempt to analyze deep subjects, lest they drown in their ignorance.
A fool can take a statement out of context and make it appear idiotic to those who frequent freak shows in order to establish a reliable belief system.

Who says logic, science and religion can't coexist? All it takes is some REALLY old fashioned imagination.
