General "Spoon" Wagers died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He'd long suffered with complications from extreme scoliosis, degenerative disk disease, severe arthritis, and a host of other issues related to his advanced age. Recently he decided, against doctor's wishes, to stop taking his heavy pain meds, as he was tired of feeling like a zombie all of the time. The return of his unmitigated pain, combined with withdrawals and the symptomatic depression associated with them, must have taken him to a point where he felt that ending it was his only option. So that's what he did.

The family is hurt and hurt bad, but Spoon is hurting no more, and for that alone I am grateful.

If anyone should have any further questions, I suggest being sensible enough to ask the family directly, and respectful enough not to post or believe baseless Topix gossip and foolishness.

Thank You All and God Bless.

It's been quite obvious to me for a number of years that things like an education, work ethic & general dental hygiene have long been lacking in this part of the state. Such could almost be overlooked, were courtesy & decency at least present in some folks. Clearly, you lack even that.

So, other than your pedestrian efforts at humor at the expense of a dead man worth 20 of you, have you anything else to offer the world? Or is this pretty much it?

Some ppl are pathetic to get on topix n make such comments about the dead. Do u not have any respect u will definetly reap what u sow hurting a family that is already grieving over a love one . Death has no respect of persons it could be in your home tomorrow. So sad ppl are so cold hearted. The Wagers family is a very fine family n it makes me so disgusted that low life ppl post these sick remarks.
