These ignorant repukes just keep sending the voters our way with their stupid comments. Federal employees mostly vote DEM, but the rest will follow in the next two elections because of dumbass CONS like this:

Steve Pearce Tells Furloughed Workers To Take Out Loans To Pay Bills

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Steve Pearce (R-N.M.) has a suggestion for any of the hundreds of thousands of furloughed government workers worried about being able to pay their bills: take out a loan!

In a post on his personal Facebook page that was later deleted, Pearce urged government workers to call their banks and take out a short-term loan if money is tight.

"If you are a furloughed government employee, we encourage you to reach out to your financial institution as soon as you worry you may miss a paycheck," read the post. "Don't wait until you are behind on a bill; call now and explore your options."

ProgressNow New Mexico, a nonprofit group that advocates progressive principles in the state, circulated a screenshot of Pearce's Facebook post on Friday, before it was taken down.

Pearce spokesman Eric Layer said a staffer, not the congressman, posted the comment. He acknowledged it wasn't the most tactful message, since it's the fault of Congress, not the workers, that the government shut down and paychecks have stopped.

"Yes that post was in error and placed by staff. It was removed because it was wrong," Layer told The Huffington Post. "What the badly worded post should have conveyed is that many financial institutions have said they will not penalize people who have payment issues due to the federal furlough. But the important part is not to wait, but contact your financial institutions now, so they can adjust things."

Patrick Davis, of ProgressNow New Mexico, said the Facebook post shows how out of touch the wealthy Pearce is with his constituents. Roll Call ranks Pearce the 46th richest member of Congress, with an estimated worth of about $8 million.

“His constituents are among the poorest in the country, so going to the bank to take out a quick signature loan is not an option," Davis said in a statement. "We urge New Mexicans to call Pearce and ask for a loan from him. He’s one of the richest millionaires in Congress. If he thinks private loans are the answer, he should be the first to offer them.”

The government shutdown is now in day 11, and House Republicans' popularity is plummeting in polls. A poll released Friday suggests so many Americans blame Republicans for the shutdown that they may lose control of the House over it.

Poll: Just 25 Percent Think Their Own Member Of Congress Deserves Reelection (PRICELESS)

Only one-quarter of Americans think that their own member of Congress should be reelected, according to a new HuffPost/YouGov poll. That's a sharp departure from similar polls conducted before the government shutdown.

In the new survey, 25 percent of respondents said they believe the member of Congress from their district deserves to be reelected, while 47 percent said they did not. Another 27 percent said they weren't sure.

In a Gallup poll conducted last November, 59 percent said their own representative deserved reelection, while only 30 percent said he or she did not. Since Gallup began tracking the question in 1991, the percentage of Americans saying their own representative didn't deserve another term has never been higher than 40 percent.

Other recent polls have found similar discontent with Congress.

An NBC/Wall Street Journal survey, released Thursday, asked Americans if they would choose to replace every member of Congress, including their own. Sixty percent said yes. That's the highest fire-them-all figure ever measured on an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll. Other polls have shown congressional approval ratings at or near record lows.

Not surprisingly, the HuffPost/YouGov survey found that even more Americans would get rid of most members of Congress if they didn't have to make a choice specifically about their own. Only 11 percent said they think most congressional lawmakers deserve to be reelected, while 70 percent said most don't.

Although surveys taken during the shutdown show Americans' anger running high against incumbents, the polls capture a level of discontent that will most likely abate once the shutdown is ended. As Democratic pollster Nick Gourevitch recently noted, internal campaign pollsters try to conduct their surveys during more "normal" times, when spikes in opinion tend to smooth out. And polls taken during moments of crisis sometimes reflect more generalized anger than well-informed views on individual members of Congress. In the HuffPost/YouGov poll, for example, 22 percent admitted to not knowing which party their current member of Congress belongs to.

If a congressional election were held today, 37 percent of respondents to the HuffPost/YouGov survey said they would vote for a Democrat and 31 percent for a Republican. Among registered voters, 39 percent said they would vote for a Democrat and 34 percent for a Republican. The survey is among several since the shutdown began to show a Democratic lead on the so-called generic ballot.

Others include the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll and two conducted by the Democratic firm Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research.

YouGov's last poll before the November election found Democrats with a three-point lead among registered voters, 45 percent to 42 percent.

The HuffPost/YouGov poll was conducted Oct. 9-10 among 1,000 U.S. adults using a sample selected from YouGov's opt-in online panel to match the demographics and other characteristics of the adult U.S. population. Factors considered include age, race, gender, education, employment, income, marital status, number of children, voter registration, time and location of Internet access, interest in politics, religion and church attendance.

The Huffington Post has teamed up with YouGov to conduct daily opinion polls. You can learn more about this project and take part in YouGov's nationally representative opinion polling.

Joe The Plumber:'Wanting A White Republican President Doesn't Make You Racist,' It 'Makes You American'

UPDATE: The remarks in question were not authored by Joe Wurzelbacher. They were posted verbatim to Wurzelbacher's website from The Black Sphere, where they originated.

Joe Wurzelbacher, more commonly known as Joe the Plumber, wants Americans to "admit" they "want a white Republican president again."

"Wanting a white Republican president doesn’t make you racist, it just makes you American," Wurzelbacher wrote on his website Oct. 10.

Wurzelbacher referred to the time before President Barack Obama was elected president as the "pre-black president era," saying at that time, criticizing the president "meant that you didn't like his policies."

"The election of a recognized black president was not supposed to change anything. In fact, it was supposed to (1) ease any perceived racial tensions, and (2) allow the government to focus on legislating without race. So America would be more free than ever to discuss the issues," Wurzelbacher wrote. "Not the case. And that is why having a white Republican president is best for the country."

Wurzelbacher questions why nobody accused black people of racism "when blacks had sanity and disagreed with the policies of racist white Democrat presidents." He also brings Mexicans into his argument, saying "many deranged Mexicans" who fight for immigration rights "are not called racist."

"Mexicans disagreed with most white Republican presidents over America’s immigration policy. Many deranged Mexicans believe we should open the country up to them, some saying that much of America belongs to Mexico anyway. They are not called racists," Wurzelbacher writes.

Wurzelbacher has made inflammatory comments about immigration before. In August 2012, when he was running for office, he suggested America "put a damn fence on the border going to Mexico and start shooting."
