Manchester will never grow, there is too many people afraid of progress.someone stated they had rather pay their money to an insurance company than to pay tax to Manchester, one fellow stated he was a farmer and needed nothing, yet 2 days before that statement the Machester police had to go to his place because the sheriff office was called out on other cases and was unable to respond, but that was forgotten.I just might be an outsider looking in but my opinion is this Town and Clay County is looking grim to any outsider.

Interesting observation and factual! It was said recently by a local citizen that attended the City Council meeting.

Nobody likes taxes, nobody, but this really shouldn't be a tax issue rather it should be are we interested in growing our community, are we interested in being able to attract visitors, potential businesses, and yes new residents to our community.

All I can really say is the status quo hasn't worked and isn't working. Our children, grandchildren, and relatives continue to have to leave to find work and life opportunities so if remaining economically stagnant, being close minded to new ideas, and not being interested in growing is your stance then be sure to by lots of stamped envelopes, be ready to spend more on gas, and be sure your internet connection is reliable because we will continue to lose population to include family members, friends, and neighbors as they leave our community in search of opportunity.

"They was?"

Business want a reliable and educated work force. They don't want people that say "They was back in the hollow". If they were looking for people to butcher the English language, they could go to Mexico.

When the people of C.C. choose their spoke persons to speak to the City ,I wonder if they was aware of the way they was going to act as they did? I'm sure one or two maybe three wanted to make their T.V .appearance one wants in politics, one wants to let people know about their business and last but least one wanted to be seen.
