falling stars?

Yesterday around 11 in the morning i saw what looked like a falling star. It fell real slow and directly downward. there was no fire but it fell for a while. Then it appeared as a little circle in the sky, then another started to fall the same way...the first one disapeared, then the next one did too... What could this be?

it is actually particals from a comet. it has been all over the news lately. the earth is passing through a path of particles left from a comet years ago. as we pass through the debris those particle hit the atmosphere and appear to look like shooting stars. they are very small and most of them will burn up in the atmosphere before reaching ground. a few weeks ago was the best time to see them, but the "show" will go on for a few more weeks.

Calling all scholars,

This post is a perfect description of human kind stretching back to the days when we crawled from our under ground homes as four legged shrews. This same behavior continued through our tree swinging chimp days and of course is pretty much perfected in our age of humanity, all too well perfected for sure.

Any good scientiest will tell us that the end comes froom forces in the universe like an exploding sun, a collision with another heavenly body or humanity's stupidity with mushroom clouds, disease etc.. but even in the later case, some humans survive. The real "end of days" comes from the above mentioned universial forces beyond our control.

So, our bible scholar friends, your words are a god send and worthy of recognition but, in the forseeable future on the planetary time scale, we are safe. Yes we know about 2012 and the tremendous grvaity forces that are supposed to happen b/c of the alignment of massive heavenly bodies with earth ie the gallaxy, the earth, the sun and the moon all line up to form a plane that supposedly increases gravity's force. But, if it were so then we would already feel the pull of this increased force!!?? Go figure?

So what is the answer?

Vote CC wet of course and grow some wine grapes and enjoy some seriously good wine b/w all of the fusing and fighting!:)

Yep, that theory popularly introduced in the Star Trek flick is really a possibility.

Also note that our six legged ancestors might been the ones you refer to flying around the galaxy! They crashed here and the rest is history.:)

Another possibility is that eons ago when our solar system was much closer to other highly intelligent civilized planetary systems that planet earth was the reject colony. They dumped us here knowing full well that it was just a matter of time before we were out of sight!

The questions and possibilities abound...
