since you all mentioned it, I did see the pop delivery going into the drive thru window the other day, yet my reaction was a bit different. I looked at my son and told him that things in the community were so difficult that people were having to trade and barter just to get by or to make ends meet, and that it was none of our business, and that we were fortunate that we could use what few food stamps we received for what they were intended. as far as the drug testing for recipients, I believe that bill may have been passed a couple of months ago in Washington,dc so that makes it only a matter of time. But that still affects the children in these families in a negative way. I begrudge no one for what they have to do but I do know there has to be a better way.

I totally agree with you, unfortunately the people in power is not letting companies come into this town that will provide jobs, ie. Walmart Super Center. Drug testing is good but if the stamps are cut out because of a dirty test what is going to happen to the children? Just because a parent smokes pot doesn't mean they don't take care of their children properly.
its all about he kids

All I hear about is drug test for pop selling food stamp recievers go unpunished. some probbal.y dont do drugs. justify is so there children can eat. dont seem like they eat now because they should be using stamps for food.I personally dont think we need more kids with pop selling attitude for next generations to come.I believe they have records of everything purchased on stamps if they wanted to prosecute they anounced they paid millions of social security dollars to dead people this year. and trillions to ileagal aliens.Ms obama wants ever one to loose weight any how. Goverment dont go after small infrections in clay co,( aint ther department) Lets stop buying from the stores BUYING pop from food stampers. List all stores you KNOW buy the pop.

Here is how I see it. If in fact the stamp recipients are making it their Full Time job not to work. Then yes they should absolutely be cut off stamps. Because if my drug tests through my employer came back dirty. Don't u think I would get fired ?

Do away with the freebies and start the HAPPY PAPPY program again.. It gave the men some pride in working for their family. The women had pride in their men for taking care of them.. NOW the childrn have no respect for anyone, they are told to call social services as soon as they have orientation .. They have no dread of anything.

STOP THE FREEBIES for the ones able and young enough to work.... STOP do not just complain..Those in power6635 are asleep...

Cut the pop out of the food stamps. Not sure, I thought back when food stamps were first issued no one could buy pop. That would be a solution to the problem.

Restricting the purchase of pop won't solve the problem. People are selling their cards for half the value. Company's such as Pepsi and Coca Cola can solve the problem by reporting the amount of products purchased and the amount of products that each store has on hand. That will solve the pop problem but, there's no solution for those idiots who sell their benefits.

The goverment has record of all products bought on a food stamp card, but it has no way to flag multi purchases of pop.Small local stores that run creadit then run large food stamp charges, are being investagated in couple of states, But poor people will search ways to defrod the goverment. just like rich cheat on incometax, Its the american way,We as parents have to instill in our children better ethics growing up, Quit bible thumping and do more ass thumping, spare the rod spoil the child

Not talking about drinking pop just using food stamp and buying 20 cases and selling them to mom pop stores for 1/2 price.
