I think Jimmy Smith would be a good jailer. He has worked with Dispatch and the county's Sheriff's Office for a long time and My vote will go for him if he runs.

How about Gilbert Botkins. He is as honest and fair as they come. Left MPD in 95 never was a yes man. He would make a excellent jailer. Would treat people fair and make sure inmates would receive fair treatment and proper medical treatment if needed. Has good education, law enforcement experience, served in the military. Even substituted for the school board along time ago.

Has excellent public relation skills and is very professional. He has my vote for sure. He is a good man and will take the time to listen to your problems and honestly try to help you.
