Once again Mr. Q you must be reminded that a wet county is not required before a winery can operate. And I know all about your investors and their Clay County must be wet first caveat.
My personal belief is that there is no winery in the plans. But some how a wet Clay County will financially benefit you personally.
1) Thanks for following the issue.
2) Yes you are right that a small farm winery license is sufficient to grow the wine grapes, process them into wine and then sell the wine in the winery tasting room, ONLY! And ONLY is the key problem. Why? The project has a large tourism component plus all possible venues in CC must be able to sell this wine. It will be the local contribution to the world of commerce! Or to put it another way, this project will have many bills to pay. Plus we might as well enrich the local population as much as possible. After all it is your back yard!
3) We have lined up equipment suppliers for the winery which will include crushers and destemmers, fermentation vats both stainless steel and plastic, must pumps, aging towers, filters & pumps, bottling lines (at least three), labelers, cellars etc. The winery will contain the processing center, tasting room, cellars, conference room, party - billiards room, commercial kitchen, bathrooms etc. In addition, the project will have a farm house, equipment sheds and two bunk houses plus an office common area to be used as an International Youth Hostel. The Winery will have a wine tasting membership club where a few times per year such members will be invited to private parties. Membership will entitle one to discounts on wine purchases.
4) Both KY State (Richie The Brainless Farmer & Staff) plus local newspapers where given preliminary packets of info which included much winery equipment information.
5) We are still accepting proposals from interested parties that would like to design the architectual details of the buildings. We have some pretty firm design concepts but will accept others until a final decision has been made. We are thinking top end log cabin look and feel. What do you think?
6) On a personal note, we get absolutely nothing until the wine is sold. Before that moment, this project is nothing but a big fat expense and gratuitious entertainment for the CC folks!
Rarely in life do we get a break and a bit of good luck. One should seize the opportunity while the seizing is good!
Thank you for your wet county support. Email if you would like to be a petition signature gather volunteer?
