earl and some of them other guys who stayed at wtbk for a long time despite tim worked there because they love radio and love the audience and they remember the good old days when wtbk served the community. guys like earl, bret fox, ollie hall, joe burchell, dave begley, zac edwards, p.a., old school rob, skeeter michaels they loved us manchester people and they could work at any station around.

yup we all loved radio..I still do..up here where im at..still for the same reason..the community..this has nothing to do with the community...I loved down there also..at the time...remember you said "you remember" the good ol days...Im not downing the community...on the radio..they deserve better than they get...and all the Dj's have left WTBK...because of one reason....Trust me I heard it all from all the above...reason they quit..is because of Tim so dont tell me about the community...I still have alot of loyal friends down there...who have stood by for 20 plus years...Tim does not like anyone..he pretends to..just to take advantage of them and use them later...bottom line...I was with the original group named above...one of the best time of my life...manchester has gone to hell in a hand basket...

don angel, micheal angel. both those guys did great in radio here in manchester. micheal worked for 105 and don worked at 103.1
mad martin was nuts. i liked his style
diamond jim russel worked for 105.7 for a bit in 1992
outlaw lee spencer was a good dj back in fall of 92 who worked weekends. he played lot rock when the station was mostly a pop format .
ronnie t worked at 105 early winter 1993
was a disc jockey named scott bray who worked at 105 in 94
a lady named angela was the night time dj in 1995. i believe her last name was barrett but i forget. i think shes passed away now, but she did a great job back in 1995 when she was on the air. any song i called in wanting to hear, she did her best to put em on for me.
probably more names who worked at 105 over the years just cant think of em. david hubbard did some nighttime recorded dj'ing , like pa is now, recorded, in early 2000's.

WOW..the auction left too????.....Thats why I(heart)radio is the best thing going online...no matter where you go you can here your hometown stations...I listened to My Cincinnati stations when im out and about......and GEE...IMAGINE my surprise that ROCK 105 is not on I heart radio....OH AND BY THE WAY...you forgot about one DJ that came on before me back when the station first Started...Gentleman by the name of ACE Perry..WAS THE AFTERNOON GUY the two years before earl started full time daily...before that earl was on weekend..sunday nights.. Just as I started my show at 5 with "homer simpsons" the joker...Ace ended his show every day with "Once bitten twice shy" AND Wendal Carmack..was host of the talk show with Joe b. Thats when the station was at its best.....After I left..(for personal reasons outside the station in january of 93)
well...all I know is from what I hear and see now..when Pooch SR. Passed...and tim gave joe an axiety breakdown...Tim ran WTBK to the shit it is now...I wish Tim would just leave and sell the station..
But he would rather get drunk and mix his drugs..than to let a good station thrive again....
my name doesnt matter

Has the ratings come out yet. I would bet wklb 104.5 is winnin the ratings for clay county. Everybody has started lissening to them. WWXL plays the same music as wtbk so why lissen to it on a m. all three stations are run as redneck as possible. no wonder nobody outside of clay county ever calls in.

Radio is such an effective medium to distribute public service announcement information, headline news, and community events. People listen in ther cars, offices, and many of the stores in town.

Ollie, Brett, and Earl were tremendous talents who had the knowledge and skills to operate the station. They are all missed from the radio.

WKLB has a great variety of tunes (rock, pop, country, etc) and I enjoy the on-air people but they do not have the radio communication skills of the prevously mentioned on-air professionals (just my opinion).

I listen to both stations depending upon the time of day, etc. Ratings are important to potential customers who will choose where to spend their advertising dollars to reach the most listeners.

I personally feel that the music is the best it has been in a while on WTBK. WTBK can be picked up all over the the place and can keep them on while traveling to work and back. Really like what wtbk is doing at this time as stated before. The other stations in town are hard to pick up most of the time. My station is ROCK 105.7, WTBK.

Smarter Captcha would probably stop a lot of that, something like, "What is three-fifths minus one-third?".

WTBK would best be served by picking a single format and sticking with it, that and new ownership. I mean, you listen to them in a given week they are all over the map, from church services to rock. That's why if someone pulled up the latest Arbitron ratings for the area I wouldn't be shocked at all if WWXL is indeed winning the ratings war between them now. At least WWXL is rather consistent with their formatting.
