Probably because so many parents pick their kids up, maybe they are practicing crowd control. I picked up my neice from there, and its a madhouse waiting in line in the afternoon .

Of the mornings u can't walk in with them anymore, and if u pick them up early u can't walk down to the classroom u have to wait on them in the office. I mean I just think something happen for it to come up all of a sudden maybe between a parent and teacher. If not I think they would have started it at the beginning of the year. I never walked in of the mornins with my daughter, after about the first two weeks, but I did go in and check on her book points and let her read some books of the mornin, and when I would go pick her up early, I always went down to her room, and talk to her teacher, to see how she was doing.

Who is everyone, the people from other schools who are jealous of the test scores, or maybe the ball team. I've never seen anything but teachers that tried to make sure the kids learned what they should be learning. My neice is in the second grade, and reads everything from ads on ebay to verses out of the bible. Don't knock a school just because they are beating your schools test scores.

Be proud of Hacker's accomplishments, or are you so arrogant that you can't believe other people could be doing such a good job.

Manchester done the same thing last year. They said it was Frankforts rule, who knows. But I do know that you cannot be near as involved in your childs education because of this. The first 4 years I knew everything that was going on with my childs education and since last year, you just find out tidbits from open house. I honestly think this rule is destroying the childrens education in terms of parental involvement, because it is hard to be involved when you can only go to the classroom in the evening and then everything is so hurried you cannot check in on them anyway. From a parent who has dealt with this from last year, it is very discouraging and only going to get worse.

What are you all bickering about? Jealousy is so childish. My child goes to Manchester and I am proud of it. It doesn't matter where your kid goes to school, it they have an eagerness to learn. I am happy to say that my child is as smart as any of the kids in any of the other schools.
Jealousy is so childish and acting like immature children is shameful. Get over it, grown-ups and stop being jealous and calling others jealous.
IMO, the parent need an education in Morals and Respect.

What did I say that would lead you to believe that I need a lesson in morals. I believe I bragged about my neice being able to read a bible verse. I love Hacker because of the time they put in trying to teach students, and they do a good job. I'm not jealous of any of the other schools, I want them all to do well. Our children are our future. If I had put some of them down, then you would be able to say something about jealousy on my part. I think you need to re-read the posts.

I just refuse to let people downgrade that school, because of the "green eyed monster". Is there anything wrong with that. I really do wish you would tell me which statement I made that you found offensive.

I will gladly apoligize if you could tell me one thing derogetory that I have spoken about anyone.

Peace out!

You should have the right to go into your child's school when you please. Teachers aren't keeping up with your child anymore, you need to, do it.

Hacker is the most organized school in the county. Go to Manchester and watch how they allow parents to pick up students, it is very crazy. Children could easily get taken when it is done that way. Also, if a parent wants to speak to a teacher then they need to come to open house or call and schedule a meeting. You try to teach 24-28 students when you are always having a parent knocking on your door wanting to speak to you about how their child is doing. It is very hard to do that and it also takes away from the time the teacher has to teach her students. Also Hacker does allow parents to bring their child into school in the morning, some parents even eat breakfast with their child. Hacker Elementary is a great school and it is ran the way a school should be ran. Also if Hacker is such a bad school why does teachers at other schools bring their children to that school?

Also about the cheating thing, Hacker teachers work very hard to get their test scores. I guarntee you that Hacker is ran totally different than any other schools in the county. Mr. McDaniel has individual meetings with teachers and makes plans how to bring their students test scores up.

You can say what you want to about Hacker, but I promise you Todd McDaniel makes his teachers work harder than any other teachers in the county..as a whole that is..

Also when a parent comes into a school and does something harmful to a child or takes a child then will you all be saying that a parent should be allowed in the schools whenever they please?

No my daughter brought a letter home Friday, and the school also called to let us know things would be changing, Monday 16th. What about the little ones, who cry of the mornins wanting their parents togo in with them. Thats why teachers are standing at the entrances to make sure no kid is taking. I just think where my child is welcome, I should be to. I agree with the parent who said the teachers don't watch the kids anymore, and its hard to keep up with that many students I understand that. Thats why I stay involved in my daughters work, because once a child falls behind, then very rarely do they pick back up, and as far as open house goes the only thing I get out of that is there doing great, I like hands on with my kid. I love Hacker its a great school all the teachers and Mr. Mcdaniel is wonderful. I just thought they changed it suddenly and figured something happen wanted to be a lil nosy I guess.

The problem with people like you is that you like to put other schools down to make yourself feel better. I will let you know this, MY CHILD's TEACHER watches to make sure everyone that is signing a child out in his room, is on there sign out list. THIS I KNOW, when my husband picked up my child, you went through the sign out sheets to make sure he was on it before he would release my child to him, same goes for my mother and another family member who has picked him up from school. I don't like to downgrade any of the schools, but your obvious dislike of Manchester is a little off don't you think. Take a look at the enrollment for Manchester vs. Hacker. Take a look at the special education classes at Manchester and then look at Hackers. My child has always attended Manchester and I will tell you it is an excellent school with top notch teachers and my smaller children will attend there also. I have never considered another school.
I don't recall any of the teachers at Manchester sending their own child to Hacker unless there spouse is a teacher at Hacker. I know a man teacher sends his children to Hacker, but his wife teaches there, so that is to be expected.
I think you people need to appreciate each and every student, teacher and parent, and stop worrying about whose school is the best. Really the ratio of teachers and students cannot give you an honest answer on the top scores. When you put another school down to make yourself feel better, it just shows you are lacking emotionally as well as intellectually.

Manchester done the same thing last year and a teacher stands outside to get the child from the vehicle. I know Manchester lets you bring them in on the first week of school but that is it. Good Luck with this it is very discouraging for the parents and students alike. When we ask last year why they changed it, the only answer they would give us is that Frankfort came and said it was unsafe and put new guidelines in place.
You better get there at least 30 minutes before the bell rings just so your child won't be late also. We have to set in line at least 30 minutes until we get to the drop out location which is beside the school.

I don't recall anyone putting down Manchester. I think its a fine school. I don't think defending Hacker is the same as putting a school down.
