please dontjudge, so you want be judged. I do think the parents have the kids for the first yrs of their lives, dont you think we set them up for learning..or at least we should. Dont you have nothing more to do than get on here and talk like this.

No your the one that is a sorry no good for nothing check drawing, rumpcrack showing heathren that's to lazy to work maybe if you turn off the TV and actually get a job. At least this parent is concerned over her kidís education that is being learned during school.

By the time written on these post, I can tell that you all dont work and neither does your kids. The reason that AMerican kids are falling behind in the world educationally is because parents dont want them to do any homework. BUt what if it was sports for the the clay county basketball team. Is it ok for your child to stay after school each week and practice? Basketball or sports never or rarely pay the bills when our children grow up. Educations determines not only can we pay our bills but how much that it left over when we are done. Homework doesnt hurt children at all.

Students this day and time are expected to learn a lot. The truth is they are not enough time in the day to go over everything the students need to learn. As a teacher I work with my students all day long but I do send things home to work on also. I would think as a parent you would not disagree with your child becoming more intelligent and more independent. In my classroom I pin point things that my students are struggling with and I send it home for them to work on.

But please parents I beg you, help your children when they come home. If you can only sit down for 20 minutes and talk to your kids about their homework and discuss what they need to do that would help us out a great deal! We are in this together!

U R exactly right. If parents these days would take more interest and responsibility 4 their child's learning, the teachers could get so much more accomplished in the classroom. The whole problem is most parents do not understand the magnitude of what children are expected to learn with today's curriculum. What was once taught in first grade is now taught in Kindergarten and any extra help a child receives can be very beneficial.

even though the other commenter was mean in what they were saying, they are right, maybe you need to check with the child's teacher to see if they are doing their work during class, that may be why they have so much homework. and then it could be that since they have been off all winter, and are so far behind that the teachers are trying to prepare them for the tests. anyway, for whatever the reason please help your child, teachers do not have the time to sit and help each child on a one on one basis, it will only help your child in everyway. i don't care how tired i have been when my children were young and needed help i would set for hours and help, and they both have been straight a students. trust me your time will not be wasted. i'm sure you want your child to succeed someday, and that takes both good teachers and parents who work hand in hand. oh, and by the way they are not asking you to learn them, they are asking you to teach them, the child would be the one who is learning.

But the parents that are posting don't give two shits about their kids and would rather let them stay home from school than to ruin their morning buzz

Yeah, I guess you are right and it's sad that the majority of kids in a lot of the schools in Clay have parents that feel this way.

make learning fun. when my little boy brings home his spelling list i study it for awhile and he has me to spell them to him and i get all of them wrong a few times and he has to correct me by spelling them back to me. he loves the ideal that he can spell better than me! then when it comes his turn he has to write them 10 times each. we do this untill its time to have his test and he is doing very well. but its a fun way for him to learn and it is a way i can help him
