It is sad when someone alienates themselves from a group they wish to join in with. Instead of a friendly" hello, can I visit". They just dump doodoo on the front door step. Certainly not the way to make friends. Its Sad they lack people skills.

I do believe so. You are so right. I think, AW's Dog has more people skills and understands more about love, compassion and concern than most of these crude posters who have relentless negative barbs. That's alright. Too many kind Folks on here with gigantic hearts even though I myself get to be a cranky Fool at times.Lol.
May your dinner go well. Nice evening to the good Folks. Love and be merry.

A companion who will love you no matter how you look, how you feel or your attitude. And will wag his tail in appreciation for your recognition of treating him so well. They have great qualities that go beyond loyalty; it's the display of love and concern...The bark and racing toward you after leaving them alone for awhile. A lick, perhaps or simply sharing dinner or a space on the seat. Lol. They grieve as well and experience loss. You are lucky to have him and him you;)

Big fat question from my corner::
While I have never lived in the hills and hollers of Kentucky I have been there several times. Now your neighbors said the holler wouldn't be the same without you.( is that a backhanded compliment?). So apparently you live in a holler. This IH you have, you actually have enough level space to do more than just turn it in circles? Maybe you have an empty house seat and have planted a garden? Lol
Okay, I'm being rude. My most sincere apologies.:-)
Good Morning to Everyone! It's a beautiful morning!!
The IH is an old truck not a tractor LOL. A close neighbor for me is about a half mile down the hill. And its all hill where I sit. I can grow a little patch in the bottom but nothing to crow about. Have some hogs but not for long a man is coming for them friday.

coffee and dog-tree time here, Sure is nice and cool outside, almost chilly. I don't call the homestead as being in a holler but I suppose it is. I live at the end of the line in the bottom land of a long sloping hill with my corn field and chicken house on a 1 acre terraced area up the hill. I climb there several times every day and I suppose that helps keep the ticker-a-ticking. LOL

My closest neighbor is across the creek in front of my house about a 1/2 mile up on a ridge of an even higher hill. So dog and I hide behind the tree when we are out taking care of business. At that distance, the neighbors wife could see what we are doing, but unlikely to see what we are doing it with or even care. LOL

How many, many times I've wished there was more good things in the news today. But day in and day out, the radio, T.V., news paper, all have nothing but disruptive stuff going on. But here is a bit of sunshine for me. Since I got home and can get around some now, a young buddy from 1/2 mile down Mississippi's dusty, rock road, he comes down to just check on me maybe 2 or 3 times a week. He's not but 32 years old and is better capable to do some of the things I can't do.......yet. But I thought that's been pretty good of him to do this and it sure makes me think better of the ole world we live in!

Good Deal. There are still some quality people in this old world. I am familiar with your general area. I have fished in Arkabutla Lake in years past, also in the back waters around South Haven.

Heeheehee ... I did consider that your IH could a truck but thought the odds were it would be a tractor. You've got a Goldie oldie that would make my husband ask a lot of questions, but, alas, I'm not a connoisseur of things with motors. I just know the car lots don't have them for sale.
...about those hogs...just think..tonight you don't have to go feed or do whatever you generally have to do for them.. Vacation time or maybe one of those Staycations!

AW you sure get the exercise! Our barn is about 700 feet from the house and the driveway is somewhat hilly so its pretty good exercise. If the weather is cool enough I will run part of it but if its horrendously hot and humid, I drive.
My sisters house is about 1200 feet from mine and when her land keeper(?) steps outside to , uh, relieve himself there's no question as to what he's doing. He's since realized we see all from our vantage point. Lol. Then, as country people are apt to have, there's always binoculars...to check things out over on the next hill. Lol

So you really are a Mississippi Man? I'm using an iPhone and I'm not on the full topix site so locations don't show up like they do on the full site. That big ole lake you're close to must be really nice from what I can tell from the computer images.
Your buddy that comes down/over to visit and help out reminds me of a neighbor guy that always helped my dad. When my dad passed at 70 the neighbor guy really took it hard. Even 10 years later its hard for him to talk about my dad.
I hope you enjoy the day and get a bit of this beautiful sunshine! Sit on the porch and just soak it in!!

Fabulous Friday to each and everyone !!

How about Reelfoot, Wolf? I've been up there only once just because of too many "sneaky snakes!" I have no idea how the fish'n is there but I'm no fisherman to speak of.

I went there only once myself, more often fished in Georgia, Alabama and Louisiana with plenty of snakes in those areas also. Once while in a swamp, I had a snake fall out of a cypress tree into the boat. Big decision on whether to jump in the water, or beat a hole in the bottom of the boat with the paddle and still be in the water. LOL

And Now We Know:Fowl-Mammals-Fish-Honey Bees all KILLED by our Government and Monsanto. This is heartbreaking.
This news report (from 2011) reveals that the USDA poisoned a group of several thousand birds in Nebraska as part of its "Bye Bye Blackbird" program from the '60s, which has murdered over FOUR MILLION birds since 2009. Carol Bannerman with the USDA Wildlife Services defends this activity and claims it's being done to protect "human health and safety" in the name of agriculture. Many are endangered.
Further research reveils this is only the tip of the iceberg. "Bye Bye Blackbird Program" began in the 1960's under the USDA Wildlike Damage Management Program, since then massive amounts of all forms of wildlike both fowl and mammals have been culled with poisons owned and distrubuted by none other than "MONSANTO". This research reeks of Agenda 21. The long list of their disposible wildlife includes many of our songbirds, owls, herions, looms, the list is truly heartbreaking and goes on and on. If you are an animal, wildlife and nature lover as I am, prepare yourself for a shock.
"When we try to control nature we always lose."
