I Know the board members keep an eye on Topix...Let them know what you'd like in an individual to head up your children's education. There have many topic spawned here eat up with negativity, this ones about passing on information you'd like the powers that be know and understand. We elected them now it's time to hold them responsible.

If we just sit around and do noting it'll be to late when it's all said and done, so call or go see these folks who came to your house and begged for your vote, tell them what you want in a new superintendent.

If best thing to happen was for the next super to be not from clay county, someone with experience from another county or state. Then maybe it not be about politics but education.

I know every candidate that's being pushed through the rumor mill and the only one I could give my support to at this time is Mr Couch. He is from Clay County, he understands our people, and he's worked here long enough to understand the problems we have. I had a situation that needed resolved about a year back and went to the board and ended up speaking with Mr. Couch, he didn't know me from adam, he was respectful and polite, easy to talk to, he listened to my ranting and took care of the issue better than I could have ever imagined. I can't say the same about any of the others being talked about, they all seem to be politically motivated or have politicians guiding them - politics has no place in our children's education.

He moved away. He lives in the Corbin area. Our board members does not want someone from another county. He has already caused two Clay County jobs to go to people living in Corbin. He will do the same as our former super. We want change!!

Oh I thought we were changing the way we've always done things, I thought we were going after the best possible candidates we can afford, I know I'd much rather have the best of the best teaching my children rather than being concerned about keeping the jobs in the hands of Clay Countians, your saying your OK with the political process of who knows who rather than going after the best teachers available. This contradicts everything I've heard form folks on here whining and crying about the teachers and school system. So make up your mind what do you really want.

Someone who is not politically motivated. I say bring in someone from out of town who is in it for the right reasons...the children of Clay County.

I hope that they do not pick Mrs. Allen. She is the most two faced person that I know. She will eat you up to your face and talk about you behind your back. She has her nose stuck into every job that comes available in Clay County related to education. She sits on all of these boards and tries to contol the hiring. The school board needs to hire a person who will hire the most qualified, not just your friends. How many of the new hired people are friends with Reecia? The board members need to hire someone who will be held accountable for their actions.

Someone who will care about the classified staff. Give the classified a raise we have not had one in so long, I forgot the last year we got one. Someone who want give their self a raise and not give the classified one too. We are people to that work hard and deserve not be looked down on. I know I read on here why didn't you go to college, Well it seems to me some teachers should have chosen a higher pay profession all some of them do is complain. Just maybe this new superintendant will.

I work in the school system from time to time, and you are correct. Most all teachers complain, complain, complain. I wonder why they became teachers. I have told them several times to be thanful to have a job in this economy. The cooks, janitors, etc do work very hard.

The strongest and most influential political power in the county is the Super always has been and always will be. So to say lets keep politics out of the school system is like stopping the wind from blowing or the tide from rising.

Last years K-Prep. Mr. Sexton's school results was almost rock bottom on the list of elementary schools in Kentucky. In other words Goose Rock School under his leadership was third from the bottom in test scores out of every other elementary school in Kentucky. Only Paces Creek School under Mr. Murry did worse. They were second from the bottom in test scores in the state.
