A | A | A Law enforcement agencies came together to crack down on drugs throughout clay county Monday.

Police were looking for 59 people on a wide variety of drug charges this morning and they arrested 51 of these suspected drug dealers.

I talked to the clay county sheriff and the Manchester police chief and they could not be more pleased with the results.

Suspected drug dealers got an early wake up call this morning.

Officers started knocking on doors at six o'clock this morning looking for suspected drug dealers. Clay county sheriff Kevin Johnson says the bust named "Operation Borrowed Time" took a lot of time and effort.

Johnson says,“Over the last eight months, we have been doing an investigation which has led to these 59 indictments.”

The sheriff's department along with the Manchester Police Department, Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement, State Police and the Commonwealth's Attorney took part in the raid.

Manchester Police Chief Jeff Culver says most of the people they arrested are repeat offenders.

Culver says,“Our goal is when we get them in the court system, then the public will step forward and hand out harsher penalties when they are on the jury.”

Officers found everything from prescription pills to marijuana to meth and large amounts of cash at these suspected dealer's homes. Culver says his department wants to get these dealers off the streets.

“We're not going to let this go,” Culver says.“We've come too far to just back off now.”

Johnson says a lot of time, effort, not to mention money goes in to putting on a drug raid of this magnitude.

“We have probably spent over 15 thousand dollars in buy money and that's not counting the expense of overtime and salaries and wages also,” Johnson says.

Both Johnson and culver agree that it is well money spent.

Sheriff Johnson says they will look at the success of operation borrowed time as a way to plan future drug busts in their area.

Johnson and Culvert will not stand for people dealing around them. They are used to getting all the drug money, after all they worked for Todd Roberts and Bobby Joe Curry and Doug White. They were dealing out of police dept., why didn't they arrest them for dealing drugs? I'LL TELL TOY WHY.
Todd Roberts was a good man compaired to Jeff Culvert and Jermia Johnson. We'll show the sob when election comed back around.SAME GAME JUST NEW PLAYERS.
