All city voters let go to the meeting tomorrow night and tell the Mayor we want to keep the fire dept inside the city limits. It's our fire dept not the counties. I heard someone say there sell gonna respond to the firefighters house who lives outside the city limits. How can you pick and choose.

Most of the volunteers, including the chief, live outside of city limits. You stop them from going outside the city limits, volunteers will be gone. Period. You dumb asses!!

This bickering over this fire department and where it should answer calls in or out city limits is pure stupidity. It is nothing but spite and ignorance on the part of the mayor and anyone else that is whining. All these years that the department has been going outside the city to fires and now this low life mayor wants to stop I not because of any dire financial difficulties but out of spite, and people wonder why Manchester has nothing. George needs to put on his big boy drawers, grow up and realize people living in clay county all suffer when idiots run the political power. Just to stop the department from going outside the city limits because of the people not wanting to be annex show me one thing, we need a new mayor with common sense that wants to work with people to grow the whole county not just sell booze and bitch when they don't get their way.

I heard the people in the county say they didn't want anything the city had to offer now they want to keep fire protection.Sounds to me they want everything the city has to offer without paying city taxes.

Did you hear "people" say that, or did you hear a "person" say that? That's called taking one comment by one person and blowing it completely out of proportion. Typical idiocy.

Nothing more than a silly, emotional outburst. Any sensible person would recognize that.

After watching the special meeting Monday nite, I got the impression from the mayor and council members that either they want to annex the whole county or start charging people for just traveling the roads through their great city. I think they should send a copy of that meeting to Americas funniest videos so the whole country could get a laugh at so called smart peoples ignorance. It was a prime example of what's wrong with this area, jealously, greed and stupidity. As a business man if I was wanting to locate here and I was to watch that meeting my impression would be, locate their why, it's more like a zoo then a town. Arguing over little petty things, no leadership, griping, name calling and down right ignorance on how a city is suppose to operate. I know it will make some of you mad what I posted but truth hurts and we saw not a meeting to advance and improve Manchester but a meeting of contempt, whining, get even, and show you who is boss and to hell with how people feel.

The mayor looks almost desperate to get this annex thing through, plenty of rumors floating around as to why. One i heard was a certain plotician(yes I spelled it right plotician not politician) was wanting his own liquior store.

I really enjoyed going to one of the Mayor's secret meetings. It's almost like watching the Trilateral Commission or going to see what the Feds do, nobody is invited to those either. Since the Mayor asked me not to come back and go to Jackson County to those meetings which I do of course, I will continue going. I am so glad people were able to see his true colors, as all saw he is very disrespectful and is from the old school of ruling and not serving those that put him there. I wonder if we can bring popcorn for the next one? Just a thought. Manchester has a problem and I don't know how to fix it because the deceit ones don't want the job. See you next meeting everybody!

Well it looks like the Mayor and all but one City Council members have found a self-serving way to already spend the fire service increase money.$2,700 dollars for a Sound System that's not needed and $200.00 dollard to install so they can be just like big citys like lexington and Georgetown when they have their special secret council meetings in the future. Also free AirEvac paid for by the city taxpayers, for all members of the City Council and Mayor. Wonder how many city taxpayers that are just making ends meet approve of the spending practice of their Mayor and Council? Yea, they are working hard to improve their self-serving way.

Its easy to see you wasn`t there or you would know that all the city council members except pennington and fox said they would pay for their own airevac. Mr pennington is the one who insisted on buying the sound system and the mayor wanted to get more prices.

I,m sure you realize a majority vote was given to get the sound system and free airevac. Mr. Pennington and Mr. Fox is only two votes out of nine. You can say what you want but this Mayor and Council is out for theirself not what they can do to improve Manchester and the citizens. It's always the same spend,spend,spend on foolish not needed things then cry the city's broke!
Well

Well the city shouldn't be broke, as much as they charge people on their water bill they should have plenty to throw around.....

Maybe the Mayor and Council should put one of those doomsday bunkers in the Y hollow so they could have their secret special meetings in the future. I'm sure North Korea has the City of Manchester in their sights with all the progress and change the City of Hope has had under this leadership. Cost ????? Who cares???? just jack up the taxes on the working folks and cry we are broke ! Spend,spend,spend!!!!!!!!!!
let me ask

That isn't how the vote was reported in the Manchester Enterprise. Are you sure you're correct?
