Appalachian Dawn is more propaganda so the masses will believe what a good job UNITE is. What they don't want the masses to know is that UNITE wreaks of corruption as well.

i think the movie is bad publicity for the county. people need to know we are about more than drugs. why would a company want to locate here after watching it. this is my opinion. sorry if i ruffled your feathers

I watched some of it on youtube...there trying to act like they have fixed the drug problem and that the mayor is some sort of savior (thats a joke) this town is still corrupt and theres still drugs everywhere..same game different players!! Not to mention how they arrest drug dealers in this county and end up letting them out on bond the next day!

From what I saw, the film was all about hope. It isn’t about people or organizations, it is ultimately about who God is, and what He can do, when people recognize Him and invite Him to be a part of their life and circumstances. It didn’t claim that any person, agency, city or government, are perfect. “Transformation” is a process--any forward movement is a good thing. People in Clay County are no different than anywhere else. We all need something greater than ourselves. As soon as we stop ignoring God and trying to solve our own problems, and then blaming a God we claim we don’t believe in in the first place, the sooner Truth can set us free. We need God… whether we think we do or not is irrelevant.

You think the film is “bad publicity” for the county? A documentary simply tells a story—good, bad and indifferent. There are elements of all of these in every county’s history. Did you even watch the documentary? The outcome was totally positive! How can the overarching message and conclusion possibly be misconstrued as a negative? It should serve as a catalyst for other counties that are contending with similar issues. Why would companies want to move there after seeing this video? Uh… maybe because it is now safer, cleaner, more united than ever before and headed in a positive trajectory.

I don't like it, it just brings this community back up to be badgered by outside communities. Having Doug Adams skit on the film was absolutely insane, here they were talking about unite standing up for corruption and then having Doug Adams as their spokesperson! What the hell? Then his part in the film where he was talking about being blind to the drug problem and how bad his daughter had tumbled on drugs but yet him and his cliche are the very ones who brought all of the hard drugs into this community, karma? could be! Who the hell is steve Collet? The roughest baddest man in town? I have lived here all my life and have never heard of him nor recognized him. You would think that living in this county and most of the county turned to drugs (as the video likes to percieve) that one would know or heard of the mighty Steve Collet the baddest man of his time!! Those examples are the reason the whole film was a joke, do it right or leave it alone!!!!!!!!!! Once again some city slicker has come into this town and with the help of a few needy ignorant individuals, has brought yet another shadow on our community, so bravo glowtorch (whatever) and bravo to all of the pitiful excuses for actors you got your 15 seconds of fame I hope your happy because the real decent citizens of this community are not.

I can answer that for him, because as always someone in this community has to try and gain their few seconds of fame and act like this town is a horror story as usual and no I did not see a message of hope when they had the likes of Doug Adams being all sensitive to the drug problems when he was one of the corrupt politicians who brought the hard drugs in this town.

Do none of the people posting here see any good changes in Manchester, Kentucky or believe in the new "city of hope" idea. I mean, which is it that they see the film as bad because its portraying the county as corrupt when it's not any more and so people won't view them well... Or, is it that they see the film as bad because its not portraying the county as still being corrupt as they see it? It can't be both.

It's not about people, it's about believing in God. Blaming other people won't save any of us or any of our communities.

#1 Serious allegation... Is this a fact? Where is this documented? How do you know this?
#2 OK so you have an issue with this guy, but I saw the film and it was not about Doug Adams. It was about the way the community came together and the positive changes that occurred. It wasn't about politics or social agendas--it was about God and the ability to change things in real life.

Another thing. To the best of my knowledge, the parts with Doug in it, was before the things against him came up & probably couldn't be omitted.

Ok just wondering/LAKid whichever you prefer to go by, I don't think you can actually make up your own mind.
Answer to NumERo UNO......It is documented in federal court that he traded OC narcotics for votes! Is that proof enough? If not then you are very very close to him most likely a family member and are blind.
Answer to NumERo DOS.......God is God, corrupt politicans, ex druggies and drugdealers was the focus of the film. Why didn't the documentary focus on our churches and all of the great things that are done on a daily basis through God, like the high percentage of youth that is turning to God? I will answer that because it wouldn't sell right? If you don't put all of the negativity into the entertainment business then in actuality it isn't entertainment right? Why portray this county in such a light that makes others fun make and look down on us?
UNITE IS NOT DONE THROUGH CHRIST! busting a drugdealer is not a Godly thing, that is goverment work! Ministering to a drugdealer, drug taker, etc. etc. is Gods work not busting the baddest man in town. Now take it how you will, your opinion is yours and mine is mine and I dont care if you like mine or not. Just think if everyone had the same opinion and same likes and dislikes that would EQUAL WORLD PEACE right?
Show me a bunch of corrupt politicans, drug dealers and drug abusers on a film and focus only on their drug abuse and corruption try to label it as God and think I will not see it for what it really is and that is a a bunch of idiots making other fools money, then your crazy.
