So this guy doesn't take his meds and goes off the deep end. And your logical response is to start a flame war about government health care?

I didn't need his family to tell me he was mentally ill.
I figured it out all by my self.

I'm assuming that you think health care is running fine now? Get a clue.

Bush's fault. Obama gets a free pass until after the first 9 months in office.

This sounds way beyond typical bipolar behavior (spending sprees, mood swings)--this is psychotic, delusional behavior more in keeping with more serious psychotic break...thank goodness the father lived, but the son should be institutionalized before he hurts someone else or himself.

I would be ashamed to be an Iowan knowing that I have ever voted Republican. It's because Republicans have decided not to fund social services that this poor man was not given the proper treatment he needs. I don't blame this young man, I blame the ignorant pig farmers in Iowa for this incident who voted Republican. They get what they voted for......What's next? First they give us pig flu, now this? At least we have gay marriage. That's about the only good thing to come out of this state in the last decade.

Hey now....I was born in Iowa.(I escaped at an early age)
The flu did no start in Iowa.
And, how is it the republicans fault this guy stopped taking his medicine?

What's the matter? Your online game servers down so you have to troll this forum again?
Why don't you put your tinfoil hat back on and grab a fresh bag of Cheetos. I'm sure Jerry Springer is on.

You ignorant SOB, if the man had an expensive pacemaker he OBVIOUSLY was getting good health care.

If you don't like US health care go to Canada and die in a hospital hallway waiting for care.

Or if you live in the richest countries in the world you fly to Minnesota for the BEST health care in the world.

You exhibit your ignorance so well you need a Nobel Peace prize like Al Gore!!

I would agree that this sounds beyond typical bipolar, however, our mental health system is substandard, AND people don't want to pay for the cost of institutionalizing someone.

Fierstine Family, I wish you all the strength to recover from this together and to heal and move forward. When one person suffers from mental illness as Jesse does, the entire family suffers along with him. It's a cruel disease, but a manageable one. Jesse, I pray, will stay on a treatment program so that he doesn't again hurt someone he loves.

Sad story, but the ending is yet to be written. Again, all my best to the Fierstines especially to the father who received the attack.
