I don't see myself as a left=wing, I'm a moderate, that's the only political affiliation I can entitle myself with. To be a left-wing Liberal I need to support the notion of Socialism and welfare economic policies. I am a capitalist, an eager and stout defender of Jewish interests and I certainly have no special liking to the culture nor the behavioral tendencies of our Arab neighbors (even though I understand the importance of coexistence). So no left-wing liberals here. I am a realist who may hold some left-wing opinions if I believe they better serve the Israeli cause, such as Palestinian independence and clear borders, but striving for such goals is not for the sake of the Palestinians, as much as it is for the sake of Israel and our demographic future as a Jewish majority.

War breeds death and no one wants to mourn the loss of their loved one. We must be very wise and pick our wars carefully, some wars are unavoidable for the best of our future, but some wars (namely the 1st world war as the biggest example) are utterly horrible and unnecessary. Video games are the closest imitation of reality we have. Can always press a 'reset'(or 'overload' if you're Hillary Clinton) botton if things go awry on the battlefield and in life. Mourning loved ones builds character, speeds up the transfer of inheritance and staves off overpopulation on the highways. You speak of 1st world war 2 like you know anything. The Palestinians hate us, that is a fact. No sane country would let their hate soaked neighbors arm themselves with an organized military force near a shared border if they were in Israel's place and had a say in it. The first thing every responsible politician in Israel must do is think about Israeli interests first and foremost, and it is simply not in Israel's interest to let the west bank become another south Lebanon and I don't care how much unfair or unjust the Palestinians feel this demand for demilitarized state is. They don't have much of a say in this, and I'm glad they don't, because Israel's security interests is not in their hands to dictate, and heavens forbid it will ever be so.

Puerto Rican in an Italian nursing home
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
A Puerto Rican family was considering putting their grandfather (Abuelito) in a nursing home. All the 20 Hispanic facilities were completely full so they had to put him in an Italian home. After a few weeks in the Italian facility, they came to visit Grandpa. 'How do you like it here?' asks the grandson. 'It's wonderful! Everyone here is so courteous and respectful, says grandpa. 'We're so happy for you. We were worried that this was the wrong place for you. You know, since you are a little different from everyone.' 'Oh, no! Let me tell you about how wonderfully they treat the residents. Abuelito says with a big smile. 'There's a musician here -- he's 85 years old. He hasn't played the violin in 20 years and everyone still calls him 'Maestro'!' 'There is a judge in here -- he's 95 years old. He hasn't been on the bench in 30 years and everyone still calls him 'Your Honor'!' 'There's a dentist here -- 90 years old. He hasn't fixed a tooth for 25 years and everyone still calls him Doctor?!'
'And me -- I haven't had sex for 35 years and they still call me
"The Fucking Puerto Rican."

Thanks in advance for your candor,

Yes no one can disagree that the apartheid needs to end. It ended in South Africa. It can end here. All this bloodshed needs to stop. The world would be a much better place.

His contention is lines were crossed and human rights violations were committed by both sides and they need to be investigated in a genuine and through way. The fact this IDF chief is asking for Palestinian input- a NEW approach- shows that international pressure works on Israel- sorry you don't like it- but it works. HEADING: Justice in Gaza by Richard Goldstone http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/17/opinion/17g... >In the fighting in Gaza, all sides flouted that fundamental principle. Many civilians unnecessarily died and even more were seriously hurt. In Israel, three civilians were killed and hundreds wounded by rockets from Gaza fired by Hamas and other groups. Two Palestinian girls also lost their lives when these rockets misfired. >In Gaza, hundreds of civilians died. They died from disproportionate attacks on legitimate military targets and from attacks on hospitals and other civilian structures. They died from precision weapons like missiles from aerial drones as well as from heavy artillery. Repeatedly, the Israel Defense Forces failed to adequately distinguish between combatants and civilians, as the laws of war strictly require. >Israel is correct that identifying combatants in a heavily populated area is difficult, and that Hamas fighters at times mixed and mingled with civilians. But that reality did not lift Israel’s obligation to take all feasible measures to minimize harm to civilians. >Our fact-finding team found that in many cases Israel could have done much more to spare civilians without sacrificing its stated and legitimate military aims. It should have refrained from attacking clearly civilian buildings, and from actions that might have resulted in a military advantage but at the cost of too many civilian lives. In these cases, Israel must investigate, and Hamas is obliged to do the same. They must examine what happened and appropriately punish any soldier or commander found to have violated the law. Yup lets investigate on both sides. Lets send investigators into palestine and israel and gets some answers. I mean if the israelis are as innocent as they say I dont see what the problem is. Lets get all those war criminals on both sides that used human shields and put them in jail. If anyone use White Phosphourus - same thing. Its a crime.

Eran Levi - Israel wrote: <quoted text> You know, maybe. I can see why the Palestinians would hate to give up to right to arms given Israel, a long time occupier in the region, is able at any moment to jump back in and regain control over their lives. Then again, would you rather have no independance at all? Because few here in Israel agree that we can trust the Palestinians to not stab us at the back as soon as they get their own organized military. With so much hate, Israel simply does not see it as a security interest to breed another south-Lebanon or Gaza strip on its borders. And so, without any apologies, Israel's offer is simple, take it or leave it - demilitarized state or no state at all and welcome to an eternity of occupation. Think its unfair? politics never were about fairness, it was about interests - and a Palestinian army is not in Israel's interest - so its just won't be. What you need to consider is that more and more Americans are questioning why we send you billions upon billions every year - free money - no restricitions - and all you seem to do is make more and more people dislike you. Americans are going hungry here and yet we seem to have billions to give to you every year. Maybe all that money might be better spent somewhere else. Just letting you know.

Brings out the absolute best out of people, young, old, young -- but especially the young. War is the opposite of hell? Pretty twisted and sad if you really believe that.
