January 12, 2005 - Police assault

Having just found this site I am curious as to whether anyone witnessed a police assault on January 12, 2005 in the 9200 Centreville Road Manassas CVS store around 4am. The Manassas police did not make note of witnesses and did not obtain the store video. The attorneys retained did not contact the doctors and therapists treating my girlfriend and dismissed, ignored our requests to research this material. The Virginia State Bar and other members claimed that not using evidence, doctors and documents was an acceptable "strategy". The Manassas Mayor and Police Chief did not respond to correspondence and the Governor of Virginia claimed it was a "local matter". I tried getting the store video directly from CVS but they responded that I needed a subpoena.

My girlfriend vaguely remembers a couple of people being threatened by the police when they tried to intervene. Her memory is vague because she was experiencing a severe reaction to medication given to her by CSB, we had stopped at CVS to fill the ER prescription. I would like to know the witnesses perception of the incident - the cops beating on me and the CVS pharmacist that called the cops without discussing the case with the ER doctor, they do not count.

I wish to thank the good Samaritan for observing the hospital bracelet on my girlfriend and getting her home safely after the police incarcerated me and released her in a medically impaired state to hitchhike ten miles home.

I would like to thank the friend who found her at home after the incident in the midst of another breakdown and got her back to the hospital.

I would also like to thank Prince William County Hospital / CPAT for identifying why my girlfriend was reacting to the medication and identifying her medical problem.

As for the Potomac News that put our names and addresses in the paper before conviction, the Manassas Police Department, the Manassas Mayor, those two attorneys we hired, CVS, the Judge that went on a rant about a deal the prosecutor made without hearing the case, the Governor of Virginia and the Virginia State Bar who practice "presumption of guilt", avoidance, cover up and collusion.

God help anyone trying to obtain mental health treatment in Manassas....

Figured that posting here for witnesses to that 2005 assault at this time would be a long shot - just last month I noticed that Manassas had a forum. What is interesting about our experience is the "avoidance" of this relatively minor police assault event, by the attorneys then the alleged oversight institutions. Expecting a concern about "rogue" police officers I wrote to both the Manassas Mayor and Police Chief, no response. Recently I noticed that the City government provides an email address to this Police Chief and City Attorney, expecting a professional response - there has been none. At least the office Governor Tim Kaine responded with it "is a local matter". We followed the Governor's office recommendation of contacting the Representative who then just referred us to "Legal Services of Northern Virginia" which returned us to the attorney issue again - dismissing evidence is a "strategy" and apparently acceptable under the Virginia State Bar's post 2000 Guidelines.

This is interesting, if our relatively minor event is being swept under the rug, then what other incidents are being spun or covered up ? Again my girlfriend was being treated for a mental breakdown, her medication was having serious side effects, this is documented in Prince William Hospital (CPAT), the assault occurred in CVS pharmacy located at 9200 Centreville Road with video cameras. Evidence that our attorneys chose not to obtain or review - talking us into a deal because they claimed that the video and doctors were irrelevant. After the case concerned about what transpired I asked for one thing, I wanted to see the store video - there was NO response from any of these parties starting with the attorneys that we hired.

What is being described here is rapidly becoming a National Issue. I Live in Delta County Colorado & have been put through a Felony trial (assault on an at risk adult) because My FACE assaulted an Old Mans' HAND (He slapped Me!), ON My Property after REFUSING to leave the Property! The Sheriff's Deputy Dawg DECIDED NO investigation of the scene of the alleged Crime was needed! During the Pretrial meeting between the Judge, The Prosecutor & Myself (acting Pro Se), The Judge informed Me I could NOT mention to the Jury that the Man I was accused of assaulting had been previously convicted of having sexual intercourse with his OWN EIGHT Year Old Daughter, which I learned about through Disclosure! So much for showing "character"! Very Luckily, I won, but My story is probably an extremely rare one because I DID win!
These thing happen because TOO FEW of Us take the time & effort to insure these thing DO NOT happen! By ignoring these problems, You INSURE they CAN Happen! By WAITING until it is too late & It's YOUR turn in the hot seat, You are telling those responsible You WANT to be hanged & You'll even make the noose & put it around Your own neck FOR Them and then politely ask them if You should jump now!!

When I entered my post here on November 26,2008 I also sent an email to the Manassas Police Chief, the City attorney expecting some sort of response to my allegations. There was no response, just like there was no response to my original letters to the Mayor and the Chief in 2005.

This is not a case of lost in the mail, this is a case of local authorities avoiding and covering up an issue of police abuse by officers under their authority.

The question I ask this community is how much damage have these individuals done to it? Is this a democracy or totalitarian government here?

Vote for attorney reform, Virginia's population have serious credibility problems. The client is silenced, they have no leverage over their employee. The response to any grievance is avoidance, cover up, name calling and ignoring it.

The Virginia State Bar dismisses "strategy" failure and as a result its population execute minimal strategies to fleece their clients.
