Why even bother if this won't even happen until 2035?? We need it now. No, we needed it yesterday.

"Eventually, if the current plans come to fruition, Route 29 and Route 234 in Manassas, which crisscross through the battlefield, would be closed permanently."

That has to be the dumbest plan since the Haymarket Trolley was proposed.

I can see this being another step to completing an "outer beltway". If they could cut this thing further east and connect it to 267 and 7, then cross the river and hook up with the western end of the ICC, I can see it being a pretty beneficial road, giving MD commuters a better way into VA and people in PW a better way to Dulles, among others. Of course we will probably never see that in our lifetimes, so we'll have to settle for a parkway that just dumps you off on some random stretch of Rt. 50.

We need roads today! The county and state only care about money made from property taxes. Build homes today and roads will come in 25 yrs. Keep Obama in office and home prices and job opportunities will continue spiral downward. We're lucky to live in one of the best economies in the nation.

You mean lucky to live in an area getting blasted by the never-ending fire hose of federal spending. If our government ever had to actually balance a budget NOVA would look like Detroit in 18 month's time.
