Catholic high school teachers in southern N.J. consider strike

Teachers at four Roman Catholic high schools in southern New Jersey say they are considering going on strike.

I can't believe that for once I'm siding with Andrew Walton and the Camden diocese.

Many people are unemployed and losing their jobs and would love to have a job making $40,000 full medical and summer off, etc......

The Catholic school teachers in the Camden Diocese should be lucky to even have jobs. Many people in south jersey are unemployed or will be soon unemployed. People are also losing their homes too. These are hard economic times. Also, why didn't the teachers protest during summer instead of waiting till school is in session. It is not fair to those families who are struggling to pay bills, taxes and high tuition.....I don't think it was very Christian for these teachers to strike during school season instead of summertime when they are off. Negotiations should have taken place during the summer; not tomorrow.

We heard rumours that many of these teachers aren't state certified and that there are more drugs and other sinful activities at Catholic Schools then the public schools.

Maybe they should be closing down Catholic "High" Schools instead of Catholic Churches....

Delaware Diocese is going bankrupt..people are going to lose jobs, real estate is going to be sold,along with religious relics, statues, etc.

Way to go off the actual truth. Schools are not closeing and teachers are not on strike because of victims comming forward. Filing bankrupt chapter 11 is just a way to victimize the victims agian. The church has been paying hush money for years now that it is very much in the public eyes and out of the church's control, this is there step towards damage control I repeat the Delaware Diocese is not going bankrupt like you think. They are not going to lose everything they have and have to close there doors. This is chapter 11 which secures money owed to creditors. And also there has not been a church or catholic school closed because of being sued rather schools have closed and church's have consolidated because of less people attending and smaller collection baskets ontop of high bills to operate a parish (expenses). Also the tuition for catholic schools are to high in this economy. Public schools do not have tuition. So my guess is enrollement is declining and the money to operate the school is not being supported by the diocese or local parish.

Don't you think that it is funny that many new non catholic churches are being built all over including the new Victory church which is down the street from st mary's. How can they afford to keep their churches and schools? Maybe they don't have to give their money to a greedy diocese who can't manage money...

There are independent Catholic Churches which are supporting parish and Catholic education and they too are surviving.

Schools and churches are being closed and sold to pay off sexual abuse setttlements. How many are there in the state of New Jersey???

Why does the cleveland diocese have a website selling antique church organs, holy statues, and relics etc.

It's a shame.. but the Roman Catholic Church is divided. The Camden Diocese , NJ is divided. When is this diocese going to tell the truth.

No wonder Our Lady is appearing all over the world most recently St.Mary's in Malaga, NJ and County Donegal Ireland..

She is trying to warn people to avoid the worldly materialistic sins of the world and choose God and the Real Roman Catholic Faith which has existed before 1969.

St. Mary's is still divided thanks to the sins of the new lukewarm "pastor". To close a Catholic Church is like turning your back on God by choosing to do the work of the devil. There has been so much public scandal and error from this diocese and yet our lukewarm so-called Catholic priests and pastors still go along with the destruction of the Catholic faith. I hear the local new pastor hardly says Mass at St. mary's. Father Romanowski was there 24/7 and your new man is working 24/7 to close you all down.

Wake up and smell the coffee. Ask the people of paulsboro who tried to keep st. john's catholic school open. They did as diocese instructed and had increased enrollment and they still shut the school down.(and that was before Galante's arrival)

They are closing down our schools and churches to pay off sexual abuse cases all over the country...
What makes the Camden Diocese, NJ so special??
Actually, Bishop Galante is obeying orders from the US Conference of Bishops and Cardinals. It really isn't fair to blame him for everything when the these elaborate plans to close down our schools and churches came from DC in order to salvage the Catholic Church. Coverups after coverups insteead of truth. Already the bishop has made decrees to close several of our churches in the camden diocese.

The Camden Diocese is divided between priest against priest, nun against nun, parishioners against parishioner....parish against parish. Each parish will do anything to protect their own parish even if it means selling out the others.

It's all about money, sex and greed...

After 1969, the 3 Hail Mary's and the St. Michael were no longer prayed to protect the parish...

The New jersey depta of wage and hour should investigate the Camden Diocese. Especially, Father Ed Namiotka who has failed to pay wages to his employeess...it is a sin against God to not conduct business fairly or mistreat employees. Also, is this diocese paying bishop hesson his pension. After all, he was once a diocesan priest and deserves his pension. He only left the sinful diocese and started his own independent Catholic Parish.

We know for a fact that many priests in this diocese and others were paid their pensions & medical after raping and molesting children. The victims AND THEIR PRIEST RAPISTS were paid pensions, medical etc. during the settlements for silence... This is why the dioceses all over america are going broke because of all of this.

Most of our priests in the Camden Dicoese are a bunch of yellow belly cowards who give all love and obedience to sin instead of God. When are anyone of you going to stand up and give all honor glory and OBEDIENCE TO GOD instead of corruption, sin and error of the Camden Diocese under the lame leadership of Bishop Galante?

It is a disgrace that so many of our priests are being abused during the "Year of the Priest" Both Father Fritz of Queen of peace of Pitman and Father Romanowski were demoted because they were some of the few holy priests to back God and his people. It's proof that these deaneries, core teams are a bunch of lies and corruption to further cover up the truth. Afterall, Canon Law states its the PASTOR of the parish to make the final decision to close down the Parish; not the bishop. It is our PASTORS WHO HAVE SOLD THEIR SOULS TO THE DEVIL... and yes, despite Vatican II. There will be a loss of Heaven for many clergy and they will know the pains of Hell.

The Camden Diocese is guilty of all 7 deadly sins: lust, greed, sloth,envy, etc..

Maybe you should try putting your faith in God and our Blessed Mother instead of closing down Catholic Churches and chasing people away. This is how you get more people to come back to church and donate their hard earned money to the collections. Many of the priests in this diocese don't even know their Catholic Faith and are living a double life of greed, lust and corruption.

After all the sexual abuse and other real estate scandals why should people stay with sin and continue to fund it?

1 woman was cussed at by her Woodstown "pastor" who is now in Collingswood.

It is hypocritical that these priests are allowed to be around children when they have no respect for God, Our Blessed Mother and women.

They ought to close down the Catholic schools because they are not being taught the truth.
They are not being taught the Catholic religion.

They are shutting down all Catholic churches that were once built by those of the true Catholic faith. Many who were persecuted. It was the holy Sacrifice of the Latin Mass that was in these churches. this is why the Camden Diocese wants to erase everything from the past.

They replacing these mega churches that are being built out of greed, sloth etc. When Jesus was in the desert , h e was tempted by the devil of all the riches and power in the world. Jesus chose God; not the devil. The Camden Diocese is being tempted by the devil with riches, power, money etc. instead of choosing God.

The reason why Pope Benedict and Pope John Paul II are now encouraging the Latin Mass is because they are well aware of their own error.

Vatican II opened the door for sin and error. It gave us a watered down missal and Mass. Now the US Conference of bishops and cardinals are working on a new Missal to continue to corrupt the Mass.

The real Catholic Mass is the Latin Mass. it is about giving all love, honor and obedience to God. Vatican II was about worshipping priest and fellowship. It opened the door for sin, lust and other worldly sins and corruption.
