. I worked at 3 mile for a few years and sorry to say I wouldn't advise anyone to put a loved one at that particular home. On the other hand there are good and bad staff everywhere. If that's the home you choose I would say visit often

I've been there quite a few times and I've had pleasant experiences but there are a few employees that are ruff but nothing major like violence! But the one at the park has employees that do drugs and they DO NOT drug test I wouldn't take my dog there!!! The residents love the three mile curve !! As do I!!!!!

Trust Logan Care

I have had personal experience from this Nursing Home. The quality of care and compassion there is nothing short of great. My Uncle was there for almost a year and he felt like it was his home. I am not saying that he would have wanted to be in his own home but he understood that was not a reality. He couldn't walk and had other problems and they treated him like family. The Nurses and Dr. Sells really gave him the best of care and always treated him with respect and diginty. When he would get sick they never second guessed anything, he was sent straight to the hospital and they were there waiting for him to come back with a smile, a kind word, and he felt good. We never let them know when we would be showing up and we always would find him clean, hair combed and fed. If he hadn't passed away he would still be there and I and my family would rest at night knowing we choose the right place for him. I would strongly recommend Logan Care (3 mile curve) to anyone. Another thing, I never smelled pee or anything else, that place is spotless and they let you visit anytime of the day or night. They have a dining area that has tablecloths and cloth napkins and each one is served their meals and never once did I hear anyone blasting anyone for spilling, making a mess. All the workers there are so friendly.

I think the 3 mile curve home is great. Don't have any personal experience with the one at the park. People must understand that there will be smells at times for the simple reason that some of the residents are so bad and can't hold their body functions and/or wear depends, etc. and are going to have accidents. That just can't be helped at times. The place doesn't have an odor at all unless you happen to be in the area at just the right (or wrong) time when a resident has had an accident and it is being cleaned up. Hell, that happens with babies at home, too! You idiots who think a nursing home is going to be BETTER than what anyone is ever use to need to get a reality check. Most people who work at these places really care for the sick and elderly or they wouldn't be doing that kind of job. It's not like the pay is all that great, but it is a job that pays decent. Don't put your loved-one in a nursing home and expect to never see anything that might be upsetting or smell a bad offensive odor. THAT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN! IMPOSSIBLE!!! Like the others said, visit oftne, unscheduled and at different times. 3 Mile Curve is a very acceptable nursing home. The quality of care there is as good as it can get unless you want to hire around-the-clock home care and be there to supervise, too. It is hard work...

People do have accidents but most of the smell comes from how long they have set in it

The 3 Mile Curve nursing home is nothing short of FABULOUS!!! I was there myself for rehabilitation, and the physical and occupational therapist are AWESOME!! When I got there I could not walk, and after a little over 3 weeks there, I WALKED OUT OF THAT PLACE ON MY OWN!! Today, you wouldn't even know how bad off I was, just a year ago. Holly, Chopper, Candy, and Ashley are AMAZING people, with very kind hearts. As for the nurses and CNA's? They are very kind, and they ALWAYS go that extra mile to make sure their residents are happy, and clean!!! I would not have a second thought about sending a loved one there if I couldn't take care of them myself, because they make sure it is your "HOME AWAY FROM HOME!"

I used to visit the 3 mile home 20yrs ago. I also visited several others. My mother was a Director of Nursing at several, Yes there were smells then too. Every assisted living home with skilled care have these issues. The staff were highly professional, and had care plans in place to provide the best care possible. The "urine" patrol was non stop, but it wasn't a 30sec response either. Any place you maybe take a family member to, ask about their care plan, and how many "State" violations they've had in the last 5 years. The Administrator or Director of Nursing is by law supposed to disclose this information to you. Good luck.

I use to work at three mile curve. I had to quit because I have worked in other nursing home in WV and NC. This place is horrible. I have never worked in a home that was so bad. The facility is always dark and dirty. There is little training for employees and no management leadership. I would listen to employees like the activities director argue with families and no follow up from the front office on needs or social support after the initial admission. I now work in another nursing home that is really a lot better. I've been in facilities that know they are they caring for people. This please is not one I would recommend at all.

Never Again

We had daddy in Logan Center at one time for rehab. It was always dark and kinda dirty looking but the rehab folks were really good and the folks in the office were great! The social worker at the time as Kim and I could not have made it with out her and Jason helping me with daddy's needs. But since daddy's stay alot has changed my sister in law has her grandmother there and it's not at all the same place. Granted it always was dark and smelled. the place is always very dirty and smells terrible. My friends grandmother never looks like she is taken care of. It terrible now, it's really not the same place I don't think the same people that were so nice to our family even work there now which in my opinion is a big loss. Take time to visit this center and really look into it before you decide. It's like picking a hotel, sometimes you never know what is behind those doors. It's changed alot since I had my family there.

I used to work there and yes it does smell, and some of the people worked there was mean to the people there and got by with it ,and yes if you didn't suck up to some of them that worked in the front office you was on the sh... List ,but I would say one think the people that work there is a joke so I would say try to find another home for them and not down at the park either some of them down down is about the same way as 3 mile curve ..I hope you can find one that will be good to your family ...

Just another note. I was there and the people that were their to help me and my family are no longer there. Not impressed with the new ones. Just be sure you check it out before you go. The people make the difference in the case it's not at all the same place.

It cracks me up that people seriously still consider the nursing home at 3 Mile. That place is not worth the time to even visit. My family had two different members up there, not by my choice. But we constantly had to make sure we were there everyday, a couple of times a day. Visiting our loved ones was and is horrible. We got no assistance for our needs. Everyone said the girls up front will help you. But what time they are not smoking they are talking about their love life or on facebook. The place is dirty and I never had a good experience. If it was my decision my family would be moved. But I do not have that control. But trust me you will want to visit very frequently like every day! They act one way but I've seen a whole other world if you just sit back and listen and watch. The front office girls are more concerned about their personal life than what they are suppose to be paid to do. That place kills me.

I totally agree with some of the remarks about the nursing home. I was never satisfied with that place. It was so disorganized from even trying to get mom admitted to that place. She was only there a short period last spring but the whole time I never got any answers or assistance that I needed. It was like the entire office staff was pre-occuppied with their love life. I can not tell you the times I would go looking for help and everyone would be huddled together just talking about anything and everything but work. And no it was not hard to hear since they would not stop talking even when you walked up to their office door. I feel sorry for the the residence that have to stay they all the time.

Buffalo Creek Gal you know an awful lot about that place for someone who is there just to visit family!! Maybe you should spend more time with your loved one instead of where the front offices are. Maybe if you have that many complaints about the place you should tell the staff yourself instead of posting it on here. Or is it that you are too afraid to show your face??? I think we all know the answer to that question!!

You will be waisting your time. I tried to air my concerns and they fell on deaf ears. If you could ever see the administrator (never there) you and your concerns are dismissed. Others in charge were no better. It always I' ll tell somebody. Useless and a waist of time. We moved mommy.
