Stephen was a great guy, one who always kept us laughing. He was great to work with. His daughter was always number one in everything he did. Rest in peace Steve, we'll always remember you.

Stephen was a great person who will be remembered forever by everyone who knew him. My prayers are with his parents, his daughter, and the rest of his family at this tragic time. Our #1 second baseman who was a better person than most of us can only dream they could be. "Spoon" RIP.

This is a senseless tragedy.

One thing I notice - rather than vandalize the poor guy's car twice - his car and his girlfriend's car were vandalized. I think this is significant because the attack was filed with rage and very personal. The vandal knew who owned both cars. I hope they catch this person soon.

I so looked forward to seeing him every day, bringing the mail, bringing the twinkle.. happy to be out in the sunshine(or the rain), talking to everyone, smiling like he had a secret-and he did, and it was this: life is just as you see it. His life was happy because he was happy. He loved his daughter, he loved his job, he loved his community, he loved his baseball-he truly loved his life, and you could see it all over him, all over that great and welcoming face. He was an inspiration.
And sassy! He told me just last week to stop buying so much crap off the internet, didn't I have better things to do with my money?
When I first moved back here, three years ago, my Ma told me to be careful, our mailman was sometimes found talking very animatedly to himself, and it made her a little nervous..of course, he was on the phone, on his headset, and not that strange after all, and he thought it was hilarious when I told him.
I will miss him every day (except Sundays and holidays)(and probably even then), a little bit after noon, and for a long, long time.
RIP, Stephen. Your absence will be felt very strongly. I don't think you knew the influence you had on your commmunity. Your people loved you very much, and appreciated you. We will miss you. I will miss you.

It is wonderful to read all the posts by people who were touched by Stephen. A cousin I had not seen in too many years due to living 2 states away, but of course the news is still crushing to hear. He has left his gentle kindness with so many people that will stay with us forever.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and leave the rest to GOD

You will be missed by so many
