Another one of our fines taking our tax dollars and throwing it away. Remember let's give them another raise. Gotta love them.

And these are the ones who test "normal"drivers for DWI.
Any officer who is found DWI or DUI should be immediately
FIRED and not pension or any other monies awarded to him/her.
A desk job should not even enter into the picture either.
Thank God no innocent person or families were hurt by this person.

Wow, you can't comment on this story in NewsRag:

Hillary's chief strategist is ousted

But anything to do with a police story, and NewsRag is Johnny on the Spot!

What a rag of a newsrag. The only bright spot is I don't have to pay for it, and it will end belly up some day.

Obviously, this joker should be fired
and lose all his benefits.
However, he will be back on the
force soon enough as if nothing ever
happened. In a few months, he
will be writing up DWI's on others.
That's reality. And had Nassau County not been involved, this whole
thing would have disappeared.

Real Facts

I often accuse Newsday of having an editorial slant.

Not the case here. Only the facts.

I do hold police officers to a higher standard. Perhaps that is not right of me, but I feel that if you are going to be the person who enforces the law, you should be above reproach. I think it is unbelievable that an officer who’s sworn job is to uphold the law willfully goes around and breaks it.

As for the Blue Wall, police may let a traffic infraction slide, but today no police officer will let a drunk driver off the hook, no matter who they are.

The fact that this officer hit a tree has me very concerned. I doubt that he was “borderline”.

The fact that he was suspended was the right call. If found innocent, he should be given back pay. If found guilty, he should loose his job.

That's what you deserve jerkee for writing tickets for people doing 31mph in a 30mph zone.

A few questions...
What was his BAC level?
Where did he consume?
Was he off from work all day?
Or did he finish a tour and then do the DWI?
What was the time of day of the incident?

I'm sure Ms. Rice will fine him $100 and then give him a hand job. Gotta be tough on DUI, unless its a cop!

Those blue wall idiots protect you on a daily basis you moron. What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty and due process?

Brooklyn, NY

#22 Apr 7, 2008
Only cop defendants are innocent until proven guilty. All the rest are guilty until proven innocent.

Wonder if folks "forgot" to tune the breathalyzer, or some other "mistake" that will let the cop off?
