why is it that the drunks are the ones that walk away from their murder spree? this poor woman was just trying to get some family time & this C.**T ruined this grandmother's family. drunk or not....she knew what she was doing was wrong.

No, I believe Alcoholism is a disease, not a crime or a sin, the same as the America Medical Association say. A drunk driver who has over drank State Taxed booze at State licensed bar is not the same as someone like Charles Manson who planned murders.

Bob, you must have had one twisted, sick and depraved childhood to have so many anger issues. Bob, you are angry at everyone and everything. I don't think anyone here disagrees this was a preventable tragedy, but whay are you so black and white on every single issue that gets raised? Why can't you just for once realize the world does not revolve around you and your opionions? and again, defending the bad guy is WRONG. the person who committed this heinous atrocity was not a 5 yr old child or a mentally handicapped person who was unlicensed to operate a motor vehicle because of mental challenge. this was a drunk who voluntarily consumed alcohol and then voluntarily murdered people with her car. letting her live is tantamount to telling other drunks that it is OK. i truly truly hope tragedies like this subhuman slimy piece of garbage created, never happen to you or your family. nobody deserves the suffering and pain this woman purposefully caused with her drunken rampage.

While alcoholism is a disease,(and those who deny it are ignorant)- driving while drunk is still a crime - and killing someone while driving drunk is a crime that should be punished. Maybe not as harshly as someone who murders someone with intent, but probably more vigorously than it is now. If the penalties for drunk driving were harsher than they are, people would think twice.

Having a disease should not absolve you of your crimes.
