Such a tragic story to hear. I hate hearing things like this happen in Carrollton. Our town doesn't get hit by such tragedy very often. Perhaps in light of all the recent accidents occurring at the intersection of 43 and 171, an intersection I had to go to every time I went to town, they should make plans to put in a stoplight. I'm sure with natural gas traffic, that intersection has only gotten busier and busier. It would be worth it if it's going to save lives!

I agree. This intersection needs a light.

That is the worst intersection in Carroll county. Reduce the Speed on 43 first of all then put up a red light. and the number of accidents at the intersection will lessen.

Something needs to be done about this intersection, you're right Katy. Too many people have gotten hurt or killed there.

Very true a light has always been needed! It has always been a disaster waiting to happen. When will there be enough deaths to make something happen. Maybe speed bumps to slow down cars in thay area. May God bless the family and friends of everyone involved.

I can name off at least 10 cross roads in Carroll County that have the same issues. You simply can't put stoplights at these intersections. This intersection has plenty of line of site on Rt 43 both ways. It is terrible what happens when accidents happen, but that doesn't mean we overreact and make knee jerk reactions.

I know there are more intersections with problems...take 171 and Route 9 for instance, that's a nightmare! I think in this case though, the intersection at 43 and 171 is such a heavily traveled one. Anybody trying to get to Minerva, Alliance, or beyond probably travels through there. I just think this one may top the list for intersections that need a light.

We are sorry for your loss. Our prayers go out to the whole family. God also needs the young also. My sister died in 2006 n it was hard but dont let life be a bore. She's in alot better place than we are. And now that she's in a better place and with God, she will be cheerleading happily ever after with the man upstairs. She will always be with you and family and friends. Our prayers and thoughts will be with you.

The intersection could use a light. It also needs some serious excavation to eliminate those three hills that limit visibility. We also ALL need to slow down when we pass through there regardless of which direction we are coming from. Anyone can look and not see someone coming - it happens everyday; that's why they're called accidents. Maybe if if we all slowed down as we pass through this and other bad intersections like Avalon and 171, we can limit the accidents or at least the fatlities. Note - I am not for a moment blaming anyone here at all. We're all just always in such a hurry and if we'd just slow down a little in these areas, it can only help. Drive safely everyone.
