MALONE — Police say three men burgled valuable antiques, cash and prescription drugs from several homes and businesses in northern Franklin County.
Shawnessy T. Newvine, 27, of Brushton; Corey F. Waldron, 25, of Moira; and Shawn H. Waldron, 29, of Westville were taken into custody this week, and other arrests were pending, according to State Police Troop B Public Information Officer Trooper Jennifer Fleishman.
The burglaries took place in September, October and November, she said.
And with search warrants in hand, Fleishman said, State Police found stolen property and drug paraphernalia at the homes of both Waldrons.
She didn’t know how the pair might be related.

Newvine was charged with one count each of second-degree and third-degree burglary, both felonies; fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor; fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, all misdemeanors.
He was arraigned in Bangor Town Court and sent to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
A charge of third-degree burglary indicates the suspect broke into a building; the more-serious charge of second-degree burglary indicates a dwelling was breached, Fleishman said, or, among other specifics, the suspect was armed or carrying what appeared to be a firearm.
Corey Waldron was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and one count of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
He was arraigned in Bangor Court, with bail set at $50,000/$100,000 bond.
Shawn Waldron was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and one of third-degree burglary
Following arraignment in Moira Town Court, he also was sent to the jail; his bail/bond is the same as Corey’s.
SAFE STOLEN
Among the burglaries police investigated in connection with the three men, Fleishman said, was one on Sept. 16 at a home on State Route 95 in Moira.
Stolen, she said, were a diamond engagement ring, gold wedding band, 25 assorted necklaces and 30 to 40 gold necklaces, prescription drugs, silver dollars in a cigar box and more than $100 in cash.
Another, the public information officer said, took place on Oct. 20 at a Moira residence, also on State Route 95.
Burglars pilfered a fireproof safe with between $8,000 and $10,000 cash inside, she said.
Valuable antiques stolen from that home included pocket watches and a Faberger egg, along with numerous other items, including sculptures, a DVD player and about 50 DVDs, according to the police report.
On Nov. 23, Fleishman said, a residence on Washington Street in Brushton was burgled, with a large amount of prescription pills stolen.
PREVIOUS FELONY CHARGES
Newvine, according to Press-Republican archives, was involved in a car accident on Oct. 2 that police said was caused by a mechanical malfunction.
He was traveling on Route 11 in Bangor when the vehicle veered to the left and ended up in a ditch.
Newvine, with neck pain, was taken to Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone by ambulance.
The Brushton man’s name also appears in P-R Police Log reports — including one in March 2009, when, police reported, he was pulled over for a traffic stop and several ounces of marijuana was found in his vehicle. He was charged with felony and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
And Newvine faced two felony charges in July 2011 after allegedly hitting a woman with his car on purpose on Route 11B in the Town of Malone.
He was charged with assault with the intent to cause physical injury with a weapon and leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in serious injury; along with driving while intoxicated, fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, all misdemeanors; and numerous tickets, including speeding.
‘FORCED DOOR’
Shawn Waldron, according to P-R archives, was arrested for an alleged burglary in February 2011 after State Police followed his tracks in the snow.
