I live on the east end of the village of Malone. Very often I see New York State Trooper vehicles speeding by. They are obviously heading to some sort of call with their lights flashing and their sirens blaring. And sometimes it is very important that they get wherever they are going as fast as they can. Someone could be hurt or injured and needs their assistance. But I'm going to tell you something.....Someone eventually is going to be hurt, injured, it killed by them one of these days! There is absolutely no reason to be racing by, in the village mind you, doing speeds in excess of 60mph! I realize their job is important. But have you ever seen a NYS Trooper flying through town like this?

Some of them right near Fat Jakes... imagine that.
But also up the hill too.
They DO tend to fly. They know how to drive safely at high speeds, I'd be more concerned for other people who don't always watch where they're going.
Since we seem to have so few police on patrol in the village, I think seeing the state taking care of business is a GOOD thing. Hopefully they'll see the need and be around a little more.
Yes. With the warmer weather comes more people. And I do agree with you totally. With more people out, it becomes more hectic and makes it harder to see everything that goes on. For both drivers and pedestrians. But, when the troopers drive at those speeds, it doesn't give everyone time to react. Such as that child that's crossing the street, the elderly driver making a turn, or parents pushing their baby in a stroller. That's why I truly believe that they could at least keep it under 45mph.

Let's make it official Yup/Concerned/bry has ran down every law enforcement organization in the county. Also every business and politician.

This man needs to learn some coping skills that deal with rejection and failure.

I see the state police driving through the village often and rarely do I see them going any faster than the regular flow of traffic. Yes sometimes they do have to speed to get to a call, that is a requirement of the job, not a option.

Yes we all no yup is offensive and very opinionated. It only takes reading 1 or 2 forums to see that but why in the hell does everyone keep feeding in to his bs?!?!? Haven't you guys ever heard if someone knows they are getting to you, it just fuels their fire more! He's an ass but if 100 other people haven't gotten through to him the 10,000 times they've tried, why would you possibly think the 20 words of wisdom you have would change him?!? How about just not acknowledging him at all cause obviously he acts like a kid, thinking negative attention is better than no attention. These forums are for opinions and yes his are usually outrageous but they are what they are, his.
Yup, please do not confuse this with me sticking up for you by any means!:)

Yes. I have seem the on the west end and through the middle. But heading out of town going east is the problem. As soon as they hit downtown Stewart's, its like someone is waving them a green flag and by the time they go by Sunoco, its full speed. Yes, they are nearing the end of the village. But, there are still a lot of people down here. With the traffic in and out of Maplefields, and the traffic coming off of Williams street where the majority of people are coming from the college. And especially the ice cream shop, which is packed with children...I'm just saying

Give it up bawl ass, we've got your number. It is not the State police, village police or sheriff's department's fault that you a FAILURE. It is not the legislator's, Hugh Hill, the Monette's, Malone town board, village trustees or the volunteer fireman's fault that you are a failure. It is not Comlinks, the school district, the highwaymen, or the republican's fault that you are a failure.

The FAULT is EXCLUSIVELY YOURS.

You should be ashamed of yourself for blaming the ENTIRE COMMUNITY BECAUSE YOU ARE A LOSER.

What a disgusting excuse for a human BEING !!!!!!!

What happened to this site? Coming back to this site was a mistake. It used to be a site for people to post genuine opinions and receive genuine opinions and concerns in return. Now it seems this site has evolved. It seems as if its no longer available to people to voice concerns. Everyone is dead set on every single post being by one person. Everyone fights with everyone. Everyone runs everyone's posts right into the ground. What is wrong here? Forgive me for straying off my original topic. But, apparently that's what this site is about now. Wow....

I think the troopers are a real pain in the rear end! Just yesterday I was on the poker run going down the goodman road and the troopers pulled me over for NOTHING! And held me up for 20 min. That's insane! Over nothing! They held me up so long that I. Was late to turn in my slip and missed the last card draw...

Hey,I do my share of driving and a lot more idiots should be pulled over and taken right off the road, before they kill ,a forgotten art,the signal light ,doesn't do much good after you,ve got to the turn, the cell phone ,watch 1 in 3 are talking on a cell, you can tell by inconsistant speed, swerving, gee kinda like a drunk,It seems a lot more drivers need to pay attention to their driving habits ,watch out for the other guy and let our Police do their job ,it may save your life.

I don't ever recall getting pulled over for nothing. Speeding, yes, swerving, yes. Road blocks looking for someone, or additional border screenings (CROCK that all was), or DUI checks, yes. Never for nothing.
They must have given you a reason for stopping you, right?
It's a holiday weekend... there are all sorts of people out there driving, wasted and dangerous. I'm very glad they're around.
If we didn't have so many people out on the highways doing whatever the hell they wanted, we wouldn't need them. Unfortunately, that's not the case, and we do.
He said it was to check if I was registerd...even though my licence plate with a 2012 sticker was clearly displayed...

Come on! Do you expect the police to respond to a break in at your house? If your car is run into in a parking lot do you expect them to respond. They are there to protect you and all of us. If you get inconvenienced a couple of times that is no big deal.

We don't live in Syria or Egypt or Yemen or Greece or Portugal. Consider yourself lucky that your parents didn't decide to move so you can enjoy the safety of living in the USA.

In two sentence you write "And sometimes it is very important that they get wherever they are going as fast as they can. Someone could be hurt or injured and needs their assitance."

Then you bad mouth them for doing so!

Another typical Malone HYPOCRITE!

You mean the 4"x3" plate was visible?? Do you really expect anyone to be able to read that while driving down the road??

I am a very active ATV rider and I know and expect to be checked while driving down a public road. Hell, I have been stopped by DEC on backwoods trails for the exact same thing! I am just appreciative that they are out there doing what they are paid to do and ensuring the saftey of all the riders. Maybe you don't read the paper much, but just the other day a 4 year old girl was seriously injured in an ATV accident. Maybe if more checks like this happened less accidents like the one I just mentioned will happen.

Get over it and quit being a baby.
