What restaurant outside a major chain hotel is ever not overpriced? So travelers will patronize the place, and the locals will go where they know the value is.
So locals are smarter than travelers?

Food is like all businesses, it is priced according to quality and competition. don't sit there and tell me you know of a cheap restaurant that is of better value than a more expensive one, frozen patties, canned hash and tastless frozen fries are cheap, but of low value.
You may not be prepared to pay more than 6 or 7 dollars for lunch, but don't tell me your choice is a better value, it isn't.

Sounds like there are some people out there that feel the same as I do. I can honestly say,I make it a point to not patronize the Monnette's.Weather it's fuel, food or garbage.I stay away.I do believe they are the reason for gas prices in the area, thank God for Maplefields, they get my conveniance store business,as well as ALL fuel purchases for our company vehicles.Remember, word of mouth is the best advertisement. What goes around, comes around. My way of doing my part is Maplefields,Marion's restaurant,,Snyder;s trash removal, suburban propane and a few others,I have seen the Adirondack energy truck delivering fuel to places other than monnette's stores.

Best deal in town is good old MacDonald's. Inexpensive and their food is always predictably good. That little food stand by the Salmon River also serves up excellent items to eat and drink. Great ice cream, too.

If they filed for bankruptcy, it's because the restaurant wasn't good enought to stay in business, Sansones, Jons, Gallaghers and plenty of others have been around for more than 10 years.
As for that story about the bartenders, you made that up.
Is Hosler's goes under, it's their own damn fault. The food there is god-awful. I had the worst steak in my life there and paid $18 for it. Their coffee is always lukewarm. That place just sucks. By the looks of their parking lot, most people agree.

Hosler's is awful..always has been...last time I was there the food bar was the most disgusting looking thing I'd ever seen, all fattening, fried, cheap looking food.. They can keep it and out back where all the workers smoke and play around is just gross to look at!!! Sansone's needs a good cleaning and updating, and who told them they can cook Italian? I'm an Italian from South Philly and kinda think I know good food but their's is god awful too! I had veal parmesean and it seemed to be just dipped in hot oil and slathered with their disgustingly sweet sauce. I haven't been back to either place. Most likely I will try Mo's for a few beers and appetizers this weekend. I don't know the Monette's so I have no beef if they are getting rich offa me either, just serve up some good service and food!

You act as if they have a gun to your head, if you think the price is to high, eat somewhere else, what a bunch of crybabies you are, and very jealous.
If Hostlers is your thing, go for it, but don't expect every restaurant to lower their standards and serve garbage just because you don't want to pay realistic prices for realistic food but would rather pay for frozen hamburger patties and french fries masquerading as food.
taxpayer do you work for monettes possibly the adirondack waste solutions manager you sound like some one that i didnt like when she worked at waste stream management you seem to stick up for cheap employers with loud mouths who think they are better if they are so great let them pay decent wages and end the bull like the way bob didnt he was a loud mouth that only the suck ups could tolerate i got out of waste stream when bob bronson owned it and went where they paid someone for what they were worth not a cheap employer you like cheap its the poor that spend the money and work hard and deserve not the rich lazy ones that earn from hard working people its all about jobs and respect for your workers right

Had a great meal there. Not over priced and the service was right on the money. Yes it is loud. People don't have to whisper there. Talk and laugh as loud as you like. Great atmosphere.
