It may be too late but since Selensky has been Comlinks president (2.5 months) Comlinks has done what the state asks, has not tried to hide behind deception, had more positive meetings with state officials than anyone in past four years, and this morning the current emps say he gave Cassini the shove out, cassini cleaned out his desk, and selensky escorted him out of building before opening today!

If true, that is fantastic news.

Of course, its Tim Lashomb's fault he was rehired to begin with.

We all know pastor selesnki tries to make things right but I've heard nothing about the firing and nothing in newspaper, I doubt Cassini was really fired or even layed off. Remember Selenski was out voted by entire board a year ago on same issue. I don't think he could have gotten support.

Not sure why it's not out yet, but it's true! After walking out Cassini Pastor Joe went around building, talked to every employee there, went to gleaning building talked to employees there, informing them of change. Last week he personally met with employees to hear concerns and gave honest answers... yes, it's sad he came to pres position so late and maybe it's too late but he has class! First board member ever to get down in "trenches" and communicate!

Actually vote was split, basically along old vs new member lines.

Mary is gone as well as Nick, no more Womens business center, no more SBA office, in about 1 month the entire building could be empty. Lesson learned don't listen to the state, screw with funds meant for other things, keep the fox in the hen house, & the state will take your organization apart brick by brick, a slow death. Let this be a lesson, when your organization is top heavy as comlinks was & is, & you do less & less for the people you are suppose to serve, you die a slow death. My problem is with the state why did you let it go on for so long, & the no nothings on the board WTF did you think would happen. Now a large segment of the neediest will not be helped.

If this happened then it's a step in the right direction. COMLINKS will never be anything but the house that Nancy built, a CRIMINAL enterprise, until every single board member present through this nonsense is replaced.

And, yeah, what we are witnessing is death by a thousand cuts. I have said that before, repeatedly. COMLINKS might have survived a lack of state resources, had they been able to source out private funding; private sources tend to be rather selective and your reputation is everything. COMLINKS's reputation is that of a den of thieves.

If COMLINKS has any hope in hell of survival? Then it needs to PURGE, and I mean ruthlessly. EVERYONE who has been involved with this organization, anyone at all who has led this agency to its collapse, anyone who is NOT in a leadership position but who cannot get past their dysfunctional past, needs to GO. There needs to be relentless, ongoing evaluation to bring this agency around, and then? Then there needs to be a rather frank series of discussions with the state, along with an inarguable stack of PROOF OF REFORM. A gesture here and there, and a hopeful promise, collar or not, just isn't going to cut it.

Nothing less will suffice. And I can't imagine any employee being paid well enough to see through what must be done here. So, if Cassini WAS fired, then beautiful. That's a first step. There need to be many, many more steps, in order to even begin to think there's a glimmer of a chance of survival. Or this agency is already GONE.

Malone needs to desperately change its criminal ways. A truly clean COMLINKS, with a clear vision and a solid plan to demonstrably make this community stronger and better, would be an excellent place to start.

IF.

Cassini was called in for a 7am meeting, and if anyone knows him he never showed up for working until atleast 10am, and left at 3! He was lead out the door by 2 board members! Bill is now acting director until they figure out what is going on. No more SBA is right. Patrick was picked up by HUD which is a great accomplishment, he was always underpaid by comlinks and never treated right, now the man is going to be appreciated and he is a hard worker, now Jeff and Mike fend for yourselves you treated him awful and now you are stuck! Congrats Patrick! If anyone knows what I am talking about I am sure you are proud of him and wish him all the best. I pray comlinks can bounce back and regain some programs but that looks doubtful, HUD wll be the "new" comlinks.

And to think, All this could of been stop, if just ONE board member did the job. And if it means calling the state to stop a wrong. A lot of people would have jobs, and services today.
All it would had taken is one honest board member. Just one!!!

new beginnings, new name, new people, new board, lets not be top heavy next time around, that is whats needed. comlinks needs to quietly disappear cease to be, over & out. We will see in about 1 month if its lights out for the whole of it.

maybe a few board members were up to no good, however many had no idea, that's what happens when you have a dictator, keep the honest ones in the dark, & band together with the thieves, a band of thieves. Also if the honest employees had banded together instead of just 1, it would not have gone this far, & they would have been home town hero's, now, they to, must share in the shame, silence can be deadly.

COMLINKS can never expect to pay anyone well enough to do what really needs to be done to save the agency. If they can't find someone who is willing to battle the board, and the politicians, and the I- Me- Mine assholes who are going to continue to expect what they think of as their due, AND the rank and file employees who, by now, are very set in their ways, and passive aggressive survivors all, I'm sure, this is never going to happen. They need someone new, someone without all the little local criminal encumbrances, someone who is willing to put in all the long ours necessary to do the work that needs to be done. Someone who is willing to work, for far less compensation than they are worth.

It's a long shot, and honestly? IF Cassini was actually removed, it was a pedal to the metal, all stops pulled, last ditch attempt to save the place, and in itself, it is not nearly enough.

So good luck with all that.

YES! Seems to be real! I wish and hope Joe S. and the (new) board members can continue this totally different approach of actually being pro-active instead of hiding and making excuses. How difficult is "DO THE RIGHT THING?" We may finally have someone here who can make a difference in the norht Country! Pastor Joe: Thanks and continue on, but if Comlinks doesn't make it please don't give up, there are more North Country Battles to fight and we want you there!
