Why is it that some kids cant play varsity football because they smoke cigs but others can use marijuanna? Maybe because their parent is a doctor? Just goes to show that Malone sports is all about who your family is.

Why is anyone surprised by this? It is Malone. Kids from some families are treated far differently then kids from other families - just look at that Sexy Six group. It is well known that some of these girls did the exact same type of bullying at the middle school and then claimed they were the victims and everyone fell for it. Why would anyone think that a kid who is from a prominent family would be allowed to do things that another kid would be punished for? Get your heads out of the sand folks!!!

You make this fun for us smarter people. The first thing you need to do is put down the bowl and lighter and learn how to spell. After you master that YOU can do some research and find that marijuana is actually a drug and does kill people. One joint is about the same as having ten cigarettes. I hope you feel like an idiot for posting this. Maybe you will have a moment of clarity.

I love it when people say this shit. If you truly believe that perhaps you need to do your own research. Grow up little man.

It is always the same story over and over concerning sports. I have been to many games over the years and I have not noticed that to be true. Yes the coaches kids play. I also think that these children are the better athletes. I also have noticed that these coaches want to win and I find it hard to believe that they would play a weaker player regardless of their "name". Ofcourse Modified is different and our school district has an "equal" playing time policy and I also believe that is well enforced.
I would like to make a comment regarding the attitude of many athlete's parents. I am sick of all the complaining and crying to the coaches. I am tired of you making rude comments on the sidelines regarding the athletes who are playing just because you think your child should be playing more. I am tired of you crying and yelling at the coaches and demanding that your child play. I will tell you what I have told my children if you want your child to play. Tell them they have to earn there spot, they have to work hard put in extra effort and listen to the coaches. Nothing is ever guaranteed and you could lose your spot at any moment.
I know we all think our children are great but be honest with yourself. You know your child and you see all the other athletes, maybe, they are not as talented as them. I have NO name in town and my children all get a ton of playing time.
As far as the "girl" issue at FA, they can only discipline based on what they were told. Many girls were called down and questioned and no one said anything that led the administration to believe these girls were a problem. If they are then someone will speak up. The students that decided to use facebook and post nasty comments well the evidence was all out on the web so they were punished. It is pretty much black&white. Oh and BTW I do not work for MCSD or am friends with any of these girls or their parents.

sportsmomand dad....... What freakin sports do you watch? Sure as hell not Malone. As far as the coaches kids playing, most of them suc%. As far as the coaches wanting to win, if that was the case, they would play the better players not the coaches kids and deff not those whos parents suck up to the coaches. A lot of parents do this.Franklin Academy has NEVER nor will EVER play the students to the potential that they have. It's all who you know and who you blow! The AD is useless. Only cares for girls sports and she needs to be removed. As far as parents complaining, well if you had a son/daughter that is an outstanding player and wasn't playing, you would bitc@ also. Malone sports program is on the decline. If it comes up for a vote to get rid of these sports, my vote will be yes.

The reality is that the coaches feel a sense of entitlement because they are the ones doing the work with the students on the teams. They don't get huge amounts of money and they typically feel overworked and under-appreciated. So yeah, their kid is going to play. Often the coaches' kids are better players, but not always. Doesn't matter. Good or bad the kid will play, If someone else's child is a better player, doesn't matter. It's not fair, but few things in life are. Couldn't find a bunch of bigger bullies than some of the coaches. Then they cry that they are victims of overprotective parents and the public when they are questioned about their tactics. I suggest that students play on swim or track teams, where they can showcase their skills without depending on the whims of a coach that has a hidden agenda.

Nope never complained when my children did not play all the time, I told them if they wanted to start they had to work harder and earn their spot and that is exactly what they did. No wonder these athletes have every excuse in the book, they get it from the parents. What a bunch of whine @sses you all are. No wonder these kids quit and are constantly saying "It is not fair". What a great example you are setting. Did you ever think that maybe you are the reason your child is not playing as much as you "think" they should be. No one likes a constant complainer.

I watch all sports and all levels; soccer, football, cross-country, basketball(boys&girls), track etc.. I will admit I have only been to one volleyball game but I did go to a few bowling matches. I think parents are only seeing what they want to. I know the coaches children that you are referring to and I disagree that there is a substitution on the team that would be a better player. I am just calling it the way I see it. I also want to know what the parents excuse is when the coaches kids are not even on the team. I am sure they have on!!

I have to say that some of the worst complaining I've ever heard from the sidelines was from fellow coaches upset that their children weren't being played enough. Parents hear a lot of stuff standing around watching a softball game or a soccer game. There's always a lot of chatter. It's funny to listen to the coach of one sport complain about the choices being made from the coach of another sport, when they have a child on the team. It happens plenty and looks bad for everyone involved.

Well I hear it all too and I mainly hear, if my child played more we would have won or degrading the players that are out playing and crticizing every move they make (how classy huh?) The best complaint is the parents of the older Athletes saying I talked to the AD and there will be no Freshman/Juniors (depending on JV/Varsity) starting this year. How delusional.

As far as I am concerned I will keep dong what I am doing it seems to be working for my family hw is complaining and crying working or yours?

My family is doing great, thanks for asking. I support my children 100%. If they weren't getting playing time because they weren't trying hard enough, I always pointed that out. If they were trying really hard, but not getting anywhere with it because the coach wanted a better name or his/her own child out on the field, I took a stand to support my child in that situation too. As a parent you have to wear alot of hats, and some are more comfortable to wear than others. I did what I had to do and never regretted it. My children never questioned where my loyalty was, whether I told them to work harder or I supported them against corrupt authority. Maintaining the status quo isn't ALWAYS the correct decision, but it usually seems like it's the easiest!

Just because your child is working hard still does not make them more talented, it should count in the coaches eyes though. If they are working hard and improving then they deserve a spot also or at least some playing time. I never said anything about anyone's loyality to their children I just think sometimes it is misguided. I know my childrens strength and weakness. I encourage them but not everyone is good at everything and you need to be realistic. There is a difference in supporting your children and giving them false hope. You see it all the time on reality shows. They think they are a great singer because mom said they were but in all reality they do not have what it takes. It really is sad to see their dreams shattered just because mom and dad could not be realistic. I am not saying crush them but maybe you should say "although I think you are great and I love your talent, I also know that there are so many others out there that are very talented also and you may be better at......
