Yeah...if you believe the official word.

Just think of those businesses with a vested interest in keeping natural gas out of the area.

Yeah, those evil Monette's. First they forced Walmart to abandon plans to put in gas pumps, now they're stopping a Canadian company from laying gas lines by planting fake gas fields in Pennsylvania. My God, they are powerful. What will they do next? Pick the next President? Anyone heard who they're supporting for president?

Anyone can get into the natural gas business, just like telecom and electricity. When the transmission lines get here I'm sure Adirondack Energy will be one of many that customers will be able to buy ng from.

There are a helluva lot more oil companies than the Monettes with a stake in this.

Not fake, but not what you think they are. Ever look real close at the Apollo capsules? In little teeny print it says "Adirondack Lunar Expeditions" Now, who owns all the businesses in the world that start with Adirondack? Someone was trying to force the Russians to give up their lunar desires. And, in case you forgot-it worked. the Russians never did land on the moon.

There is NO reason NG is not in the area yet. I have personally met with Jim Ward about the pipeline, and if Enbridge put out the bid and NG pipeline installation Companies bid, then revoke their bid they would be held responsible. There are MANY MANY NG Gas pipeline Contractors in the US that would jump at the opertunity to bid this installation. Yes maybe it would be more expensive, but seeing as how Enbridge brags about being the USA leader in Crude delivery and,-- "Enbridge Gas Distribution's regulated storage operation began in 1964 and has become one of the largest storage facilities in Canada with a capacity of approximately 100 billion cubic feet (Bcf). The company's storage facilities are primarily located in south-western Ontario, near the Dawn hub." -- I dont see why the NG Company themselves can not assist in the installation cost seeing how the long term investment is on their behalf.-- Maybe Jim Ward is nothing more than a pawn in this whole NG tease...

Unfortunately, it all has to do with NY Public Service Commission regulations. Natural gas as a regulated utility must recapture the projectís capital investment within the first 5 years after distribution begins, which would be easy if they could charge what they wanted, but their rate of return is capped by the PSC at around 7%. The bid came in too high to meet the return on capital so the bids were rejected.
Enbridge will go back and rework the project, try to find other funding sources, perhaps re-bid, perhaps take on a smaller project.

taxpayers are payin for this if they want to or not so let taxpayers turn a profit from this through turning it into a snowsled and fourwheeler trail system economic gain for such a long trail and right in the middle of every town on the way would be stagerin compaired to the taxes we spent on it

walmart got turnt down bc of the already vast amounts of pumps in town as you go into wallmart the station was supose to be to the right as you go in cost the company a fortune to make that spot bc there was a house there burryed that had to go to landfill each load cost builders around 2200 times that by 20 over all a expencive grassy spot for dogs to take a dump

Oh yeah, I can see that right now. I think that all those people who granted right of way across their properties for a gas line might have something to say about the intrusion of noise making yahoos on ATVs and snowmobiles, morning noon and night, across their PRIVATE properties, as a thrown- in afterthought.

I can see the lawsuits now, if any screwball local yokel jurisdiction ever even considered this. And they couldn't consider it.

If you don't have the land to operate those death machines legally you shouldn't own them. That means either access to a legal trail or land of your own.

Plain and simple.

You are never going to legally run deathtraps across another person's private property without their permission. That you are drooling over that is very, very Bangor of you. In fact, your ID just about says it all. Nevertheless, you may as well give it up. It's NEVER going to happen. NEVER NEVER NEVER. Not now, not EVER.

NEVER.

That you are concerned with what the taxpayers are paying for Enbridge to be here, when the vast majority of county taxpayers are NEVER (there's that word again) going to benefit themselves, is another matter. Very admirable. Hold that thought. Express it to your representative in the county legislature, especially by voting for their opponent. Hell-- fill them in on your trail scheme. Let them know what playing so fast and loose with their positions has wrought. For what they are paying Enbridge they COULD have begun to establish a reasonable trail system, county wide.
