Idiots and their stupid daredevil sports. I am offended by the post by served this country. He was in Malibu like a moron trying to act like a bird. If god wanted us to have wings he would have given them to us. I commend True American,What The and any others who speak their minds. This is the internet not some private chat room for some idiots friends who want to mourn his stupidity. He deserved to die when you gamble with something as precious as life this is a risk one must accept. I am not so stupid to try to fly above the sky and I am a Mexican and they say my race is dumb. Ha Ha Ha Deep crying for Jake Langbehn and know that he is not with the lord because the lord hates stupid and he will be judged for being so friggin selfish.
It’s spineless people like you that weaken this country and the gene pool. Your message was truly disrespectful. I feel sorry for people like you. Were you so bored and socially inept that the best thing you had to do was post a disparaging messaging on this site? A young man dies in a tragic accident and you amuse yourself by posting something like this. What the hell is going through your head? Did it ever enter your obviously clouded mind that this was a place where his family and closest friends have dedicated to his life?
Although I did not have the pleasure or opportunity to meet Jake, he was a friend of one of my closest friends. You see, in my eyes that makes Jake a friend of mine. Having been through recent family losses myself, I offer my prayers and condolences.
That was my nice commentary for the family and friends. The following is between you and me personally.
Any family or friends of Jake. Please accept my apology for the following:
You “No Habla” are a complete and total PUSSEY. You hide behind the internet and post messages from Mexico or what ever banana republic you were conceived in. You have no character, integrity or intestinal fortitude. You are one of the “followers”. A person that sits on the couch watching everyone else live their lives. Be thankful that you will never meet me. I would like nothing more than to have the opportunity to you’re your face through your disrespectful ass. If you ever get the chance to get to the Richmond Virginia area please look me up. Maybe we can go hunting together. Yellow, spineless toads are always in season here!!

By the way: We have several Home Depots here. There are plenty of employment opportunities for you.

it's quite hard to hit a person with a paraglider ... i tried it ;)... let alone kids then.

stupid remark

the comments in this thread are just plain stupid in most cases and suggest that if you don't have a real involvement in paragliding or with the family of the paraglider who died in this accident.

obviously True american doesn't have the intelligence to realize even IF he was right on his statements they should not be mentioned to the family in the way he does.

True american I wish you a BIG FAT REDNECKT TRUCK TO RUN YOU OVER SOON. pathetic twat !

my condoleances to the family and friends of jake.
and if it help: He will be thermalling forever now !

True American..... Shut the @%*& Up.... Shame on you for disrespecting my friends Nephew like that.. I assure you JAke was not an idiot, and he chose to live life to the fullest, unlike you obviously... Idiots sit at home and twiddle their thumbs and wait to die.. Adventuring spirits go out and live life like there is no tomorrow.. Jake exemplified all that is true and great about America.. you live free, you die free... God Bless Jake His Family, and all the people that Care enough to write nice things about those that are not here anymore.........

My husband Joe, his son Jordan and two of Jordan's school friends went camping with Jake up until the day before he died. Jake is in our thoughts as we walk on the floors he built for us, look at the wedding photos he took last June and go thru photos of Joe and Jake from over 22 years of friendship. Jake will never know our son in person, but he will live on in name as we honor his memory by naming our newborn son, Jake. We have been stunned and devastated living with the knowledge that Jake is gone. That hundred tooth smile, supercharged charm and wit Jake posessed will be forever missed. We love you Jake. Our love and support are with your mom, dad, and sister.

They only do it to get a rise out of you. If you don't respond, they'll go someplace else.

Based on all the posts from family and friends, Jake sounds like an incredible guy. I'm sorry for your loss.

to all of you haters. please find something else to do NOW.
jake is gone and we can't bring him back. i know he would just be laughing at all these stupid comments.
but he is not here to make any of us laugh anymore. we have sent him off at a beautiful sunset on the beach that he loved, we all hope he is at peace and is looking out for all of us he is the angel on all of our shoulders. he has brought a very close group of friends together to keep him alive within all of us through his love and support and talent and the stories we have to tell. we are left here to support his family that has had way to many hard times. everyone of his friends are there for them.
we are done here and it is time to return to our lives without 'our best friend'.

i think this thread needs to end. move on. i believe there is a saying.'do not speak ill of the dead' you are only hurting the ones who loved him now.

I would just like to add my heartfelt condolences to Jake's family and friends. I had the good fortune of working with Jake on a couple of jobs here in Los Angeles and thought he was a great guy, very genuine and positive.
I don't have any firsthand knowledge of the events leading to Jake's death, but I would like to add that I did have an experience with the paragliding instructor Claude Fiset. 2 friends of mine took intro lessons with him and none of us were impressed with his attitude towards safety, especially with inexperienced students. He took one of my friends on an unpowered tandem glide in unfavorable conditions (not nearly enough wind) and they ended up in a cactus 30 feet down a steep hill. I would recommend anyone think twice before using his services.
REALLY... maybe you forgot to mention Claude flew before from the same site and had a perfect flight after top landing. Then it was the big overweight dude who decided to stop running and sit on his fat ass and forced an abort. There was a cactus in the way... so what.

Claude has 20 years in the sport and has more skills than most.

Well, you seem to have difficulties getting accurate information my friend. Claude has been teaching for 18 years and has a perfect safety record. He has also don over 5000 tandem rides without any problems.

The pilot who started a small brush fire is from Palos Verdes, he was never a student of Claude's school and Claude was on vacation in Mexico when he failed to take off. He never crashed.

Concerning Jake, he was a great student and a great individual... we all loved him. He did something during his short flight that no one can explain. And we may never know why he turned toward the hill after a perfectly controlled take off. He was the first fatality and we are all sadden by it.

Maybe you can try it someday ... that would open your mind!

Happy day to you

after claude was beyond rude and unprofessional to my group (he showed up late and then lied about what exactly our package entailed.) as a matter of fact, he was so rude that we decided to cancel altogether despite having driven over an hour to do this for a big celebration we had been looking forward to for quite some time. i decided to research his name when i got home because i was wondering how someone like himself could be in business, only to realize that he has had multiple students die under his instruction while paragliding with him and he is banned from even doing this in malibu, which is why he works with so many third party companies that do the actual paragliding booking for him and why he may ask you to drive your car to the bluff instead of his own, because he cannot be spotted by the sherrifs. the detective from malibu was very alarmed to hear that "claude is back to his old tricks." save your life, don't paraglide with claude. he is a con artist and has actually killed his students. a quick google search of his name will verify everything i am telling you! oh, he also kept talking about wanting some alcohol and his 'liquid courage" before our flight. when we asked for our money back, he tried to get in his car and drive away and we had to physically block his car to keep him from leaving. oh, and one of the students who died under his watch, it was reported,(again, a quick google search and viewing court documents will confim this) that claude did not report the incident and refused to identify the body as his students until 4 days later. the poor family.
