Swiss SolarTaxi rolls into the South Bay

How can he be going to slow at 20 mph on the freeway? Last week I averaged 10 mph on the 405 from lax to santa monica.

That's disappointing to hear Australia didn't find his visit to be, at the very least, amusing.

What does it mean that the taxi runs on 50% solar energy and 50 % electricity from a Swiss Solar Station? Does this mean that the car runs on energy directly from the solar cells (50%) and then from batteries (50%)?

It's a long time I think before petrol freedom will be available to everyone. I think the main problem in the States will be our desire for our cars to be so large. We're super dependent on SUVs and it takes a lot of power to make those bigger cars go. Hence, the tiny size of of Palmer's solar vehicle. In Europe, where the cars are already miniscule, this should catch on quickly.
