The purpose of this letter is tp inform you that after careful consideration by the Board of Directors it has been decided that you will not be offered a position at Summit Charter School Inc. for the 2008-2009 school year. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Clairs Olds (chairman of the board)...This is the letter was recieved by many of the teachers at Summit from central, and maitland campus on July 14 2008. Claire was the same person who came to the school and stated that she will tell us on the last week of school what our employement status will be for the next year,, she and the BOARD sat on the info never informed us, till the last minute . Is that what she does with all her decision making,
Summit had some extremely dedicated and loyal teachers to the school and let them go , kept some that have little experience, but the biggest slap in the face is, many of the teachers let go by Claire and the BOARD that have years of experience, M.A., B.A. degrees , proper certification, proven track record with success with children and a passion for working with Kids, regardlessd of salary . are finding that Summit has been advertising to hire more teachers, WTF

Claire Olds and the entire Summit Board should step down. It is their ineptitude and lack of oversight that has led to Summit's problems today. To see Claire cry those crocodile tears about how much she cares for Summit, should have been cried years ago when her friend Steven Palmer was bilking the school out of thousands of dollars! It looks like the Summit school board is in CYA mode overtime and needs to take accountability for the mess they created and step down. I hope Orange County removes this board and puts an interim one in place that has the kids at the front of the line! also How can this board sit hear and say they are here for the students, for the school? They can't even take care of the employees who have shed thier blood sweat and tears for the school and the hundreds of students who have attended Summit Charter including one of the board members children. The board may have said they "cared" but they have not been able to prove that they care, problems that they said would be taken care have not been, they made alot of empty promises to the staff, students and parents of Summit. How do they expect people to still have faith in them to fix the problems. Have a back up plan.... don't get rid of people to make the situation even worse, if you are not even willing to address the problems to fix them. For a board who considers themselves as being professionals this is the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL business practice I have seen, to all other parents and employees thinking of returning to summit BEWARE!!!!! the board is only there to save face and to cover thier own ****! If they care the board of Summit would of responded to the staff about thier positions 2 weeks after school was out like they had promised not 3 weeks before the new school year began. The board needs to step up and take the responsiblity for the actions they did not take years ago...... but they were to busy "caring" so much that they dropped the ball. This is a voluntary job they did not take seriously enough with the educations of hundreds of SLD students that need help, I hope that the parents and students see through the darkness that the board has put among this school.
