Ignoring a jury summons in Orange county

I received a jury summons two weeks ago saying that I have to report to the downtown courthouse next Tuesday.To get to the court house I would have to drive my car.The only problem with this is that my tag is expired and I have no car insurance.It says on the summons that "failure to appear as directed CAN result in a fine for contempt of court,chapter 40,Florida statutes."Does anyone think it would be possible to play the "I don't know what your talking about,I never received anything in the mail"card?

Advice...

and yes I could take lynx but I just don't want too.

According to the government, they do not care how you get there nor how much of an inconvience it is. You are expected to be there on that date. Now if I remember correctly, in Orange County, you have a numbe rto call the day before the summons in order to find out if you even have to go. With the County's financial problems and them not paying jurors like they are supposed to. There is a very good possibility that all of those court cases maybe postponed.
