Has it occurred to anyone how many jobs were lost right before Christmas how many families suffer because of this and all you want to do is gossip your petty think about others next time

Personally my main gripes are the ridiculous potholes, high prices on some/most of their inventory and the people that can't park in one parking spot and instead take up half of two spots making parking hard on some days, especially when it's busy. Sucks it's closed and hopefully it re-opens soon. I liked talking to some of the people there and without it, days frankly seem a bit more empty and boring.

Just remember the potholes the parking the prices all that stuff isn't the employees fault they can't do anything about it. Remember they have to hear the complaints they get bitched at regardless of the fact they don't cause that to happen all I'm saying is that the women who worked there are now unemployed and all people think about was all the bad things how about the positive like the people you talk to or the kindness of some workers

Yes, there are some very sweet people who worked there and it is sad all this happened right around Christmas time. I only blame one person and it's sure not Angie but they are related to her. That person is only worried about the money and not paying what they owe. Now you see what this person has caused!!!!

I feel sorry for all those who lost there jobs .
Only ones to blame are the owners .
This place is so handy for locals like me , I just wish the owners would try to fix a few things around there. Pots holes, standing water, credit card receipt paper never in the pumps and PLEASE !!!!!!! Clean the place up a little !!!! I would eat there more if it was a cleaner place.
This place is a gold mine , no reason for not keeping it up.

It's not as easy as you may think to keep it up that takes money and with the situation they couldn't afford it I personally know I my self worked there and at log cabin for a long time. My mom also works well worked there and my sister we consider the people there family and people need to realize things happen to the best of us people make mistakes we learn one day I'm sure it will be a better store and I'll see the day it reopens all we can do is pray for everyone and lend a hand to help them if everyone wants things done it takes community effort hasn't anyone though of that?

Community effort?

Come on this is a business like any other in this country , not a charity organization . They have enough business to make a profit if they manage it right. They are the only gas pump and restaurant in the vicinity. There is no excuse for not making a profit when your prices are high and you have no competition . I support them when I buy things just like everybody else does. I'd say there's more to this story than the public knows!!!!

I believe in our community
I work, worship, live , donate and volunteer in this community.
Your letting your feelings overlook some basic facts that everybody else sees too. Gotta be more to this story .
By the way, I've been a business owner for a very long time . I know what it's like

is there anything we can do for the people that run the stop and shop? it is the holidays and many people have been affected by this. I really liked this little place and would often get breakfast sandwiches etc. Come on people what can we do? Could we hold a fundraiser? This place is important to the community. I am really missing it.

I'm very sorry for the store closing and all the people who lost there job and I feel bad for angie she put her blood sweat and tears in to that place but c.l is a low life they didn't just shut the store down out of the blue he had notice and said nothing and left all those workers to fend for their self just because he has a gambling problem and pissed all the profits away and basically ran the place into the ground and he deserves so much worse I have no respect for that man

sorry is pretty much right. sad as it is.

had c.l. not "pissed away" the money...and cared a little more...it would in fact be a better pace. but it's not only him, it's also the people who patronized the place. one of the things that bothered me was and the "farmer" / "cowboy" rednecks who walk right in, boots covered in cow @#$%...not even having the common sense or decency to clean off boots before they come inside.

the state of the business isn't just a reflection of the owners...but of the patrons as well...;-)

Now we're getting more of the full story
I got fussed at in some earlier comments on this post for suggesting something was wrong for this business not to make it .
Now we know.
There are three things that have ruined a lot of good business men. Gambling , drinking and bad women. Looks like one of them took its toll on a bunch of good folks here at magnolia stop an shop

One things for sure about your comment on local farmers and cowboys
You'll only be able to make them around here while your hiding behind your screen.
In case you haven't noticed your not in New York City. This is a rural area with rural people . Not the city your obviously from. Here is most locals advice about farmers in there dirty boots, get over it or get out ! I've lived on a farm with animals my entire life and I've also been to the city a lot .
I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that our country stores with horse #*\; is cleaner than your city is anywhere.
hope it reopens

I heard it was going to be sold on the court house steps for back taxes. I hope whoever gets it reopens it soon. I miss being able to get gas without having to drive so far to get it. I had heard at one time that some Iranians were buying and reopening it. I just hope whoever gets it, opens it soon.

I miss it and hope someone buys it soon. They need to drop the price some or offer some kind of incentive to potential buyers. I wish I could buy it and remodel it. I know there is money to be made there. It was always busy in the past and with some changes could really be a good investment. Magnolia needs the services it provided. I know we have a dollar store but thats just not enough.
