Obviously Billy is not all that bright. On the other hand, one of the main causes of this type of behavior is the prohibition of physical punishment. If you as a teacher can take a kid out in the hall and give him a few licks with a giant paddle, you don't have to resort to trying to grab him around the neck.
It's not difficult to believe that the kid aggravated the teacher.

As a substitute teacher myself, I almost understand Billy's position. If children did not run the school's and there was discipline, situations like this should not happen. Unfortunately, there is a severe lack of discipline not only in the schools, but also in the home of most of our children. Thus, there is no respect for anyone. I know this from a first hand point. In the last couple of days, I have written up students for improper language in the classroom. The first time, the student was suspended for a day and today was even worse. I wrote him up again. Soon enough these are the folks that we will have running our states and our government.

As pathetic as these kids are today, and as unruley as they are you can't grab kids by the neck and slam them around, even though this little punk "probably" deserved it, you still can't touch the kids. Even when I am out in public I see kids I just want to grab by the head and slam them up against the wall, I refrain myself from even looking at them, let alone touching them. So as much as I feel for these teachers who have to teach these unruley brats, putting your hands on them is a NO NO, so the action of the school was justified by firing him.

kids today have no respect whatsoever! discipline has now become a word of the past. parents let kids run over them and society has turned their collective heads. why? fear? afraid of what they will do in reaction? the "i dont care" attitude has become the biggest trend amongst parents now and has to be stopped! kids role models now are the idiots who wear chains, oversized clothes, and sport gold teeth or the all black-im-depressed-i-hate-the- world-because-society-let-me-d own propaganda. kids have it so easy but wait till they wake up and realize life isn't about what they see on t.v. open your eyes to the real world. you have to give respect to get respect.

I went to this school where all this action took place and I need to say that kid did deserve it. I know I should not talk bad about my people but dam, they dont respect no one. There parents are the ones that complain to the teachers to be easy on their child. I know these types of kids to because I grew up around them and all they became was drunks. I know this person who is being charged and he is a great teacher. Bring back the dam discipline before the kids run the system.

YOu know we all have it hard? Kids don't all have it easy. Try and understand them make an effort to get to know them no matter what mistakes they have made. I know this teacher who teaches at the school I go to and we students really respect her. She doesn't let us get away with anything but she made a huge effort to know us and all that. Not all kids are what they seem to be. You talk about kids as if they are a disgrace and also like as if you never done wrong in your life. Maybe if you spared a minute or two from your precious time you will understand what I'm saying.

It's time discipline come back into our society! Children these days are beyond there own parents control, there are no parental guadiance, and with that children are continuousely to be rebellious toward there parents and others with NO RESPECT!! In this case, the school setting. I believe and could understand this individual frustration toward a student. I too work with students, and parents and I tell you majority of them are TROUBLE!! And again, most parents will completely DENY that there child have a behavior problem within the school setting because they never gone to there school to visit there child's teacher or participate in any activities that school does during the year. Some of them do not even know anything about there own child's education or school activities! It's even ashame that parents will start taking action when all along they failed to do there job as a PARENT! All I could say is, bring back discipline (Pattle on the buttocks). Mr. Billy was probably raised with discipline and these are the kind of teacher's that should teach in the school setting. Think about it also that, if your going to discipline a child, your losing teaching time, right. It's time to start TEACHING with discipline!

It appears the school failed to follow their own protocol. Whatever happened to In-School suspension at this school? Mr.Billy may have handled the student inappropriately (that remains to be unknown). In a rural community school, everyone knows one another and witnesses start to exaggerate. After all the events are resolved, lets hope the parent(s)will take this as a sign of their parenting skills and to sharpen them where flaws remain.Especially if this student has been written up or verbally reprimanded before,he just made Mr.Billy a victim of his own actions and I would have left the school right away, why stay at the school when you know the schools system didnt work the first time. Now, the community is rallying like this incident was murder, the only passion is the teachers passion for education. Bring punishment back into the classroom! We would hire Mr.Billy any day at our school for we need educators who will stand their ground. And like I said: "its the students word against the teacher" and vice versa. Thy shall respect thy father & thy mother, thats why we were raised unlike todays generation. Today's generation only screams Child abuse at any/every incident, and our kids' minds are embedded with that tool!
