people, you have to understand, i dont condone what this guy had on him (drugs) but we have NO protection up here from 11pm to 5am, generally when the tweakers are at work doin what they do, you NEED protection up here if you plan to survive if something happens, the sherrif's cant get to you soon enough to save you. Sucks but it is what it is, FOR NOW!

Course, these drugs could be simply an over the counter pill taken for allergies and the guy may have been swerving due to being tired.
I had a friend who had a wreck because he didn't realize how tired he was. None were hurt except a tree that survived, thank God but the lesson learned here was ...
It's hard for many folks to accurately judge how impaired they are when they are impaired whether that is from drugs or simply coming home from a long night's work.
So if in doubt, don't drive.

PS: I just love the numbered confirmation Captcha here. Very easy to read!

I've ran into so many who mixed letters where you could not be sure if letters were lower case 1, one, or zeros or the letter O and more than my share of those who said my answer was incorrect when it was clear it was correct.

I think when it comes to protection its after the fact. What I mean is after the crime or what ever is committed then your protection shows up. And they try their best to catch the perpetrators and arrest them. And of course that takes time from the time you call and the length of time they take to get there. We have about 27,000 people down here in Paradise. But our protection is two patrolmen and a Sgt for a 12 hour shift. I may stand to be corrected on this? I kind of figured it would be more than that. Driving by the Police Headquarters it looks like the have more police cars the policeman!! And we have about 30 police officers. Your town has none and the sheriff has a station up there on Skyway 24/7. Correct me if I am wrong about anything I said.

Oh Nicholas, real men don't carry guns!

You should have stayed wherever you came from and taken your arsewhoopin' like a man for whatever it is that you did to piss someone off. Now you've gone and pissed more people off by endangering our lives and our kids' lives.

If you survive jail, I would strongly suggest that you man up and take what's coming to you instead of running like a biotch

And here I thought I am the one that is usually harsh! Sorry to disappoint you but REAL MEN DO CARRY WEAPONS!!! The ones that dont up here put their families in danger from predators (wildlife) and also subhumans that have no respect for life. I do agree that he should take responsibility for the drugs, abso F'KIN lutely but as far as the weapons go, as long as this guys not a dealer or something, then its common place up here to have firearms and be willing to use them to protect your family when there is no one else around to do it ( YOU LISTENING BCSO) it is BECAUSE we have no police protection that we have to be prepared, maybe if they manned the station thru the night many wouldnt feel the need for firearms but thats just not the world we live in up here, I really wish it was, sucks to know that you are the only one who might be able to save your family from subhumans, home invasions, tweakers, etc because if you call BCSO you wont have anyone on scene for atleast 45 minutes from 11pm to 5am, by the time they get there, it would probably be too late! Life sucks sometimes but we have to play the hand were dealt and this is it.

OK, Are you REALLY Gunner? If so, tell me where you went after you evaded police in the canyon 12 years ago (just the road, no specifics neccesary). THEN I would know the truth. The Gunner I knew wasnt a bad person, he was a product of his environment and also a pretty nice guy if you got to know him, he NEVER disrespected me and also taught me to fish when I first moved here. IF you are Gunner, you would remember that and even if you were involved in drugs (which I did NOT know of because Gunner NEVER told me anything about that nor had I ever saw him doing drugs, I think he wanted a fresh start but there was too much going against him getting that start, mainly his family) you still treated me with respect and would have been there for me had I asked you or needed you.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for guns rights and protecting our own families but this fool was obviously running from someone that is after him. I believe he should man up and take his punishment for whatever he did to this person rather than move away and endanger the lives of all these innocent people up here, especially children. If he didn't do anything to make someone wanna kill him, then he would have gone to the police and reported the threat instead of moving away. My guess is a bad drug deal, probably burned his dealer.

Generally I agree with your somewhat objective opinions. This time it appears you are creating reality in your mind. If someone calls me and says "I'm gonna get you sucka" they better be packin cause I will be.

My point is that people don't just call others out of the blue for reason at all and say "I'm gonna get you sucka." Whatever it is that he did, he need to take his beating like a man. If he wants to carry a gun while he's out driving around under the influence near schools, he needs to do it in his own hood, not ours. That's my opinion, nobody else has to agree with it.

Even where we have good police coverage, the old saying still holds true: "When seconds count, the police are only minutes away."
