Shawn Rohrbacker is the same designer that worked on the messed up skatepark in Oroville. The kids and parents need to visit that park to see what issues to avoid in Paradise. And talk to some locals to understand what the "officials" won't ever tell you.

Did you ever stop to think the "officials" may have something to gain? Has the town pulled the numbers as to the dedicated number of skatepark users? How will the park be insured because a posted use at your own risk sign doesn't stand with juveniles. Besides, in no time at all, any half way decent skater will outgrow the park within a few months of use. "If" the project was ever to get off the ground, this is not money well spent.

Sombody needs to get ahold of Steve Nielsen from Cando specialties in Oroville. Not only is he an avid skater he is also a desinger and artist. He can tell you anything you want to know about the Oroville park and what not to do with this park. This park is too small I will tell you that. It is also not a daddy kid fun park. It is a skate park for skaters. As far as I am concerned bikes should be banned. And a sepreate bike park area made. Bikes do nothing but get in the way. Good luck with this park Paradise, I am sure you will screw this up like everything else in town.

To Heck with the cost of construction, design, etc... Get an Insurance quote first! I suggest Mr Titus, He's an Insurance Broker, of the highest caliber I'm sure! Who?; will be the first family to sue over injuries sustained at the park, Who would be liable? Certainly not an injured child. Methinks an attorney is all ready counting the billable hours on the future of this park, maybe even encouraging its development, Maybe an insurance salesman too.
