Months after Butte County pot dispensary raids, still no charges filed

Full story: Chico Enterprise-Record

More than seven months after Butte County law enforcement coordinated raids on seven marijuana dispensaries, the sheriff's office is still investigating the case, so the District Attorney's Office has yet to file criminal charges.

Marijuana should be legal in every way, legal to sell give away to anyone any where any time.
Stop the "REEFER MADNESS"!
The laws are criminal as are those who profit in any way from there enforcing of them.
The laws are abusive.

End the War on Drugs, it is a failure on every level, an endless war that cannot be won, a waste of huge amounts of money, and more importantly a violation of individual rights. End drug prohibition the real reason we have problems with drugs.

This search and violation of the simplest laws was a complete farce! Cheif Mahloney could have used the aproximately 50 grand he spent wasted on a beat cop for a year. The writer should have adviced the public of the waste. But as usual the paper is in the back pocket of the county.

Once again Tognoli is stirring the pot. He should have stuck to delivering gravel instead of trying to open a dispensary. This is what greed gets you. 215 is a scam in so many ways. I can't find anywhere in 215 or 420 where it says you can sell or give away marijuana. Look back to 1996; we've given them an inch and they have taken a mile. Enough is enough. Oh, by the way. The last time I chekced the DA's Office has 3 years from the time of investigation to file charges. I'm sure they are getting their ducks in a row before charges are filed (I sure hope so). Out!

It cured my dandruff and runny nose. Reduced my PTSD symptoms and made me realize cops are tools of corrupt government and its laws. ParT of which is our local DA.

S.O.S. is a non profit co. with les than 4500. a month in salaries. They had the lowest suggested donation. They gave over 5000. of cannabis away monthly. They had communal gardens to grow for patients where they supplied pounds of cannabis to even more needy patients. Further they publicly advocated for patient rights risking everything. If thats greed the patients could use more of it.Get your facts straight before you judge.

The fact that the DA's office hasn't filed charges doesn't surprise me. DA Mike Ramsey is totally incompetent, he's had this job for generations. When I was a frosh at Chico State Ramsey was DA, now I'm a grandfather, and I'm retired, yet Ramsey is still DA in Butte County! Ramsey is like Jane Dolan, he just won't leave office. It's not a good thing to have somebody in office for 30 years. Ramsey was at one time a dynamic and aggressive prosecutor, but now he's about ready for a wheelchair. Guys this old don't want to work hard, they get cranky, and set in their ways. People I know that are familiar with Ramsey say he has good days, and bad days, kind of like Al Davis on the Raiders. Davis, and Ramsey, have problems getting people to work for them, nobody wants to hear about how great football or prosecuting was in 1956.

If you've been around here as long as I have, nothing surprises you about the law enforcement. It's "The Dukes of Hazard" for real around here....Always has been...Kind of unfortunate now though that the gangs have infiltrated our sweet little town and seriously unfortunate that they still are chasing after people growing plants.
