Huckabee signedlegislation making it harder to homeschool in Arkansas. See http://www.hslda.org/courtreport/v15n3/V15N3A...
Huckabee also proposed to give instate college tuition to illegals - instate means the taxpayers pick up about 1/2 the cost so in effect he had Arkansans fund illegal's education with their taxes. See http://arkjournal.com/2007/11/following-is-fr... And finally, we see Mike Huckabee cozying up to the NEA at http://videos.emule.com/play/mike-huckabee-at... -(hO4_5XOSzKk I am a Christian and a homeschool parent. Huckabee is NOT who I want as president. Look into Ron Paul and check out how he stands on issues . He is pro-life, pro-homeschool, anti-federal big govt, and an honest to goodness defender of the constitution. |

PUBLIC SCHOOL ACADEMIC FAILURE AND IDEOLOGICAL DEPRAVITY AND THE RON PAUL EDUCATIONAL REFORMATION
Motivated by widespread academic failure, systematic discrimination against Christianity, and progressive moral depravity; several public school educational reforms, based on the economic principles of competition and school choice, have repeatedly been shown to be highly effective solutions. Tax supported charter schools, private sectarian and religious schools, and vouchers are blooming everywhere; the era of the public school academic and ideological monopoly is fast coming to an end. Ron Paul's uncompromising support for these proven educational reforms, in opposition to the powerful self-serving teachers’ unions and the Hate-America Neo-Lib Dems, is a paradigm for effective Constitutional Government, by the People and for the People. |

Great... A group of people who are afraid of teaching their children evolution and believe that Noah had dinosaurs on his boat support this guy. If he wins methinks we're in trouble.

These folks don't represent mainstream America.
How do all these far right extremes think they can possibly win? They see The Flintstones and think it's a documentary. |
Good news. They don't and they wont. Flintstones is not a documentary to them. A documentary implies the past. It is the future. You know, the wonders of the next century. |

These homeschoolers are elitist, who believe they and only they can teach their children the correct way in only the subjects that the parent finds pertinent, and by doing so they will protect or isolate them from the real world. The problem with that is these children will never learn how to interface with reality. The parent believes in a world that no longer exists and no matter how much they try to instill that world on their children, the real world will bust that bubble soon after the child leaves the confines the parent has imposed.

Hey Looken, I just tried to post a reply to a post and it just disappeared. What gives?

Easy Money, from my perspective the homeschoolers are beating the public schoolers five to one. And they can never be isolated. The world would not let them. The homeschoolers are removing their children from the public school system because they don't want them taught questionable values. Condoms et al.

Joel, you have made such an accurate statment, IMHO. Thank you for your insight.
I do not wish to send my KG child to the public school because of the lack of morality in the schools today. I was a public school teacher for 13 years and know what goes on in the schools behind closed doors. Parents, beware or at least be cautious! |
Until you can produce some sort of data on your perspective of five to one I have to remain very skeptical. They can not be isolated, that is what occurs by keeping them at home, they are isolated from reality. I wonder what a resume would look like to an employer when the applicant puts down home schooled, I know what my reaction would be and it for sure in the beginning would not be favorable. Home schooling might be OK if your never going to leave the commune but not in the real world. |
Your are welcome. What is IMHO? |
Okay. The Home schoolers have to go the grocery store. The home schoolers have to get a job. The home schoolers when they are hired, they are promoted very quickly to positions of management where they can hire more home schoolers. I know. I hire them. Now, do you Understand? DATA! DATA!!! We don't need no stinking data!!!
LOL |
Sorry maybe you don't require data, but I do. You see thats what makes us all function on the same wave lenghth. I lived in Sac for ten years and I don't remember seeing home schooled children interfacing with others, or going to the stores for anything. What I saw was the 60's mentality of the many communes located in the foothills. No brass ring on that statement for you |
If Ron Paul is a genuine defender of the Consti- tution he would be understand that it is the Supreme Court, not the Chief Executive, that determines the constitutionality of any law. He is running for the wrong job and it is doubtful he will be selected by the next President to serve on the Supreme Court if there is a vacancy. His touting the Constitution is the same false flag he has used for 20+ years to play the pop- ulist and libertarian. Meanwhile he has not had the courage in those 20+ years to bring a challenge to the Supreme Court on a single occasion, knowing that in case law his simplistic interpretation of Constitution cannot stand judicial scrutiny. |

You know Billr, i have nauseous feeling, about Dr Evil, if gets to be president, not likely, all will be lost, our nation will be serious jeopardy, another nationalistic fascist state. But,if does get control of gov't and have power to sign (all Congress fault giving Bush power) and replace with his own evil facist agendas...; because money, power... will buy anything. I see a very immediate danger in future, Billr, his dealings with these fascist group and he will but have choice or no choice to put these evil supporters into office; because he owes these fascist a favor and agian money, power ...will buy anything. i don't see him as a principle man with integrity, honesty, virtue... more of Dr Evil with fascist agendas for the descrepit failing America. Hes trying to take advantage when America is at weakest, especially when there are many divisons along political , religious groups ... and when america is economically weak and soon in financial ruin... And, you well know Bill, he will try to take advantage of this opportune situation! It look like another horror history lesson that we can't forget- look to Germany during early part 2oth century! So wake up everyone! Do you feel the same way???? |
I guess they have name badges that say I r hmskoooled. |
Sorry Bill for spelling... tired been a long day, working on my song!

Yep, one of the reasons I moved. I didn't want anyone of them overhear me asking for condoms in Raleys. |

My big problem with homeschooling is that many parents who choose to homeschool are not trained in educational practices, philosophy or child development. It's a different story if a parent is a professional educator and chooses to teach their children because they have the appropriate background and skills. If they don't, they are likely shortchanging their children just to avoid teaching them to stay true to their values.
How would Ron Paul feel about home-medicine? Surely intelligent people can read what they need to in books --- all that professional training and experience just isn't necessary. ;) And, I do know many home schoolers that can't hold down a job or function in society, as well as many who can. It seems to me that the ones who transitioned into secondary schools seem to do the best. |
