it is always see how hateful people are. i moved to bedias 2 years ago and bought a darrel hall house on 6 acs and it is a clean well built and clean house. I am really enjoying the privacy out there. grant it there are some homes out there that are not the cleanest and mancured but those people don't last long. Life is a forever changing thing. My son's friends who are all police as why I would live out there and my first answer is to get away from the inconsiderate, disrespectful, hypocrites that are so plentiful in the city and second because I love living out in the country. My son's friends say that everyone out there are cocaine dealers that hide in the woods. May response to that is why do you little in neighborhoods next to drug addicts, drunks, gangs and drug dealers? Of course they deny it but the truth is, it is everywhere from the finiest neighborhoods to the poorest. As some of you mentioned there are people that maintain there homes and then there are those that don't. The fact is you find them anywhere you go, some worst then other but it exist and my statement to those that don't like it is don't come to Bedias your negativity is not wanted. It is like those that come to Texas because they can't make a living in their own state and trash the our state, if you don't like it LEAVE, you are not wanted here anyway. Plain and simply, go trash some other city but of course you probably don't have anything positive to say about anything.

I have to say. I have lived in bedias for 30 years all my life. it's not the greatest place but its home. a few D.H people have been bad but alot of the orginal's are still here love it here. And if you get tech it was not all darrel hall land. at one time a great part of the land belong to the plasters. they ranched over 1000 acres in grimes county alone. Sarah Bradley Dodson designed the first Lone Star flag. the Dodsoons where the first to move to this side of the county.Bedias and every other place is what you make of it. you make your own bed in this life and you ahve to lay in it.

Well Jack, I thought I’d found a source of news and information from the Bedias area. Turned out to be a place where disgruntled individuals can publicly slander people and things they don’t like. All but the slander of individuals falls under the heading of free speech so knock yourself out. Four generations of family before me are all gone now but I still have a few friends in Bedias. I visit whenever I can but not often enough for my liking. I was there the weekend before Thanksgiving and heard several folks with accents not common to native Bedias residents. I guess they would be the D. Hall imports you’re talking about. Right or wrong the D. H. imports have all been painted with the same brush and most have more than that moniker in common. If the shoe fits, wear it.
Also congratulations, 18 years must be some sort of record.
You’ll notice I said what I wanted to say without calling names making threats of violence.
While we’re at it, my little two acre plot has never been owned by D.H. and I can prove it.

I used to live in a D.H. home. Almost kissed the "Well man", when he finally showed up. LOVED it and HATED it. Glad I had the memories. I kinda missed the sidewalks and concrete. D.H sold a dream to people that could not afford it, and mostly could not sustain it. Buyer beware, that was not really his fault.

Sorry to come late to the conversation. From Austin and spent 30 years in the Navy. After the Navy found a Job in California and hate it. Worked real hard to get back to Texas and through a good realtor and working through the internet and long distance, I found a good home (not great), but sound, it sits on 7 acres with a pond. Put new roof and windows and now plan to spend the rest of my years there. Yes, sometimes the water is red, but plan on putting my own well in and use the local water to water some animals and the grass. People so far have been very friendly and mind their own business. No one has taken anything of mine or stumbled on my property without permission. My brother a retired Austin Policeman and ex Marine is watching it for me (great to have a good house sitter) until I can live there for good. We are clean, served our country, pay our bills and respect other's privacy and rights. Although we did not by from him, I guess we are Darrell Hall folks as well, only because he built the house first. Plan on being there along time and hope all the Bedias vs. Darrell Hall home conversation goes away so we can be welcomed into the Bedias Community. I love the property, the town is very nice, and love being back in Texas! Hope to meet each of you and become neighbors and friends. Delmar (NavyDude)

I am not in El Segundo? Don't know where that came from. I am from Austin, work in Bakersfield, and will live in Bedias.
