I read the isurfhopkins article on Northview Plaza across from the radio station. Anyone ever heard of the Italian restaurant that's going in there? Is it fast food italian or more like Olive Garden? Hope it's not as pricy as Defabios. Coldstone Creamery is pretty pricy ice cream, so I heard. I don't like that Dr Wittmer very much but Madisonville needs new businesses.

Yeah, but dude, the ladies love Cold Stone Creamery. You can't go wrong with Cold Stone as the end to a first date.

How come you do not like Wittmer - I think he is a nice Christian family man and doctor.

Looking forward to a Cold Stone in Madisonville - pricey ice cream but good.

I think Dr. Wittmer is the one financing the new plaza. I could be wrong, but thats what I heard.

Yeah, Dr. Wittmer is the one behing the new plaza. isurfhopkins quoted him in the recent article. I think he's a conceited know-it-all person with a superiority complex. I've heard him berate others, including some of those that work for him. I am a former patient, bty.

With that said, I hope he does succeed in bringing businesses to Madisonville. It's not important that I like the man.

I don't know Doc Wittmer, but if he's doing something to bring this town into the 21st century I'm all for it!! Plus, just drive by it. Its a major investment to put that up on speculation! Name someone else thats taken the risk and put his money up so we can have a little better quality of life in this town. If,and I hope, he can make a profit on it thats great! Thats what brings jobs and money to this island of little to do and go to. We need more speculators like him!!

Oh, hey, penn station. Good times.

Will there be any kind of shopping going in there, or just eateries?

I heard an Italian place, however, with all the failed empty factory buildings, empty restaurant buildings and zero population growth in Madisonville - unless your a Dr. looking for a tax write off - with all the financial opportunity in growth towns (Clarksville, Bowling Green, etc)- would not want to be investing in a restaurant in Madisonville.(especially a restaurant the number one failed industry in US that requires much work and management oversight with low margins). The days of the 60's and 70's for Madisonville with meaningful population growth are gone. Have extra cash laying around --- what financial adviser would say open a restaurant in Madisonville vs. all the other financial opportunity out there right now?

It's supposed to be a brick oven pizza Italian eatery. Straight out of his mouth. Also an X patient.

Sad to hear about the cold stone. Although extremely high in price every once in a while - I enjoy ice cream for there. Economy is tough. Thus, understand why Cold Stone is not coming. Hopefully, they will be able to fill the strip center, however, seems to be a lot of empty factories and commercial buildings around Madisonville. Lets just hope the rumor that keeps going around about GE is not true long term or the town will fall on very hard economic times with many more empty buildings.

Yowoman maybe Doc doesn't like driving an hour to have a decent meal. Grow up jealousy does no good. Bet you'd jump on bandwagon if you thought he was going to give you $$
